'One moment in the first half summed up the bond that exists between Stoke's players and the supporters who follow them so fervently. To an almost bullring roar from The Britannia, Liverpool were pressed further and further back into their own territory by a chasing pack of opponents and an increasing sense of panic. The crowd loved it and so did Pulis and his players.'
A proper Stoke City FC legend. & what a top bloke he was too.
So many people would have stories similar to this but a few years ago Gordon gave up his time to come and manage an Oatcake mix and match team for a Play on the Pitch at the Brit. Those on the home team will remember his rousing and amusing pre match team talk out on the pitch and how he posed for pictures and signed autographs without a care In the world. Top Top bloke.
I only ever saw you drop the shoulder and go at the last match at the vic. Gutted, my grandad said you were the greatest so to my dad, and that’s all I needed to know, a true legend and inspiration to many young goalkeepers like myself. My thoughts to the banks family, RIP legend
