Don Mullan. His speech was very moving. I had to answer the phone part way through. Really wanted to leave it and listen but I am supposed to be working! The Vicar was Geoff ezha .Top bloke who keeps it real .He was round at mine for the World cup and knows his stuff.(one in the eye for the people who think I critical of Jones because of religion.)

There was a black vicar...don't know his name...bloody brilliant he was! Hopefully they'll have the speeches somewhere...I missed the Irish man (just as the army got to his house) and his daughter. I think there was a phone. I bet it was Ricardo Fuller. The Rev. Geoff Eze is this vicar's name, been to a couple of family funerals at Stoke Minster and he makes a very sad occasion a lot more bearable, a very heart warming guy. Geoff is a top bloke. He was round at mine for the world cup and knows his stuff.

missed that bit, been trying to watch whilst on a conference call. Was that somebodies mobile phone just ringing ? There was a black vicar...don't know his name...bloody brilliant he was! Think the black vicar was the Rev Geoff Eze. He is (or was) vicar in Hanley and/or Etruria. He is a great speaker as you say.

Watched it and was touched, even though couldn't hear a word being deaf. Wish they had subtitled it. :-( I don't have a sound system to my computer, so my experience was exactly the same, but even so was very pleased to see so many familiar faces. It's not every funeral where you see so many coming out of the church with a great smile on their faces.

What a wonderful and fitting tribute, a brilliant service from start to finish. I'm not from the area but I'm a lifelong supporter because of Banksie. Very, very proud of the send off the whole city gave to him today. Proud to have adopted Stoke just like he did. RIP the hero could fly xxx

What a fantastic send off for the great man and I have to say my hero really did deserve that. Not felt like I have this afternoon since I lost the old man 3 years ago and I’m not afraid to say I’ve had tears rolling down my face. Thanks Dad for taking me to see my hero all those years ago and becoming part of the Stoke City family. Also well done to Stoke City for allowing me to watch it when I came in from work👏

Loved the bit at the end regarding the violence in Ireland and the road Don could've gone down. He said something like, "arguably, Gordon's greatest save of all."

I’m too young to have ever watched Banks play, but I did manage to say hello and shake his hand outside of the ground once, a good few years ago. True legend and a lovely man.
Just want to say how impressed I’ve been with the club ever since the news broke. The PR department has been questioned at times over the years, but the way they have kept everyone informed, the tributes they have put together have been really well thought out with a lot of care and a lot of class. Butland in the plain, all green kit was a beautiful touch. Also steaming the service was a great idea, I live in Thailand so I managed to see the whole ceremony once I finished work.
Well done Stoke.
RIP Gordon Banks

I was just a twinkle in the sky when Banksy won the World Cup in ‘66 and his heroics in Brazil for England in 1970. I wasn’t around when he helped Stoke to win the league cup in ‘72. I am not even a native Stokie having moved into the area almost 18 years ago. But I will say this: the city of Stoke did this fine man proud today. I was at the Bet365 today to pay my respects to an England legend and a fine ambassador for Stoke City, the club I have adopted as my own. The atmosphere was one of High emotion, each of us wanting to pay respects to a man we will never see the likes of again. I am so glad I was there to see the outpouring of love from us fans and together watching one of the most uplifting funerals I’ve ever seen. We stood with the congregation, sang the hymns and applauded the warmest tributes made by Don, Wendy, Sir Geoff and Mr Coates Senior. The address was joyful by Rev Geoff Eze. Stoke City’s finest goalkeeper was given a best send off ever deserved. Now we leave his family to grieve and we keep his memory alive by continuing to follow the club. RIP Gordon Banks. We will ALWAYS be with you.

I was in my late teens, early twenties when Gordon played for us. Wherever we went to play we felt incredibly proud to have Gordon Banks in our side. He would usually have a top class performance and the home supporters would complain that without him they would have beaten us. We just shrugged our shoulders and would say that was nothing special - just Gordon being Gordon. Thank you Gordon. RIP

I have mixed emotions today, having been to the stadium to watch the cortage leave and then the stream of the service. Very sad as this is a great loss, but very proud of the family, the club and the city for the way it has been handled. WBWY Gordon

They were indeed fantastic speeches, all coming together from different perspectives to give an intimate and holistic picture of the professional and private Banksy. At several moments Geoff Eze nearly had me jumping out of my seat and shouting Hallelujah...😉😂 Don Mullan's tribute was beautifully measured, poignant, uplifting and heartfelt. You could see how much it meant to him,and he nearly broke at one juncture. The image of British soldiers standing there armed with their SLR's vying for a glimpse of Banksy's autograph is priceless.

We've had some good times as Stoke fans really. It's too easy to forget.

I watched the cortege stop by the statue and then watched the funeral service at the ground. I can only echo the sentiments expressed so eloquently over the previous pages and want to express my personal thanks to the club and the Banks family for everything from the Villa game to the service today, completely fit and apt for this great man.
As a 9 year old I watched England win the World Cup so Gordon was a hero before he put a Stoke shirt on but that put the icing on the cake. What shone through today was the fact that he was equally loved outside of the Stoke bubble and for the man himself as much as the magnificent goalkeeper.

I'm thinking about setting up a GoFundMe page to get Alan Hudson a suit and some shoes. Who turns up at a funeral looking like a badly dressed Scouser? Scruffy bastard.

Central News dedicating tonight's show to Banks and today's funeral. Broadcasting live from ground too. Great footage.
For a programme that usually give most of their coverage to The West Mids teams they've done a great job of highlighting our club & legend tonight.
