The post match interviews from Jones are as predictable as the ones from Hughes and Rowett. Does he think the fans are stupid?. He seems to be a nervous wreck trying to spout positives when there aren't any. Man up sunshine and be honest!. The bloke is hopeless, weak. I have no faith.

I hope so but if I’m the meantime he can desist from describing performances such as that of Voakes tonight as ‘immense’ it would be good. Wheels within wheels. Managers say a lot of things. Back in the dressing room he might have tore strips off him, but I doubt it. I'm just happy we have a manager that is focused on the team, and not having a go at the fans whilst disrespecting modern day legends in his interviews because he can't hack the pressure he created himself. Roll on the summer. Rowett said nothing much wrong in my view. I think he is an intelligent bloke who speaks quite well. Jones has looked like a rabbit in the headlights ever since the Shrewsbury game. But in the end it’s what happens on the pitch that matters.

So who gets cleared out to remedy the situation of being unable to score a goal? Given we looked so much better with Adam in the side against Leeds, and all season whichever combination we've had in midfield we've looked awkward and extremely 'samey' (across two managers), wouldn't you start there? We aren't creating much because those in midfield can't create. Allen has never been a creator for us, Etebo I'm lost with and Woods spends more time passing backwards than forwards. All of them are awkward in possession and their first instinct when they get the ball is to take a few steps back into space by which time the move is lost. Agreed about the sameyness in midfield and the lack of pace and decision making, that is definitely part of the problem, and lack of vision. So which one (or more) goes?

Only really saw most of the first half then had to head off to work. Thought we did ok going to brave the long trip to Ipswich Saturday could of done with reading losing really just hope that cushion on the relegation zone doesn't evaporate within a few weeks I'm going to Keep the faith with Jones I'll properly judge him when he has his own team in place.

Allen while he still has value. Woods is on tricky ground given the manager is wedded to his diamond long term. He just hasn't got the physicality. I think he'd benefit from playing alongside the type of player Jones will need to sign for the base of his diamond, but two into one doesn't go, so he will have to go. Etebo I just don't get the fascination, but is still young. He is the player on paper with the attributes most suited to the wide part of the diamond. That leaves the tip. Not sold on Ince there and he looks way more comfortable out wide. Bojan is the obvious short term answer, Saido might be an outside bet there till the summer too. The Championship is a weird league and the types of players who do well in that position are quick on the deck and aggressive.

Clean sheet and we didn't lose. Improvement of a sort. I suppose.

Where we are today would be easier to swallow if we hadn’t just spent 10 years at the top table, became one of the worlds richest clubs whilst we were at it, spent squillions of £s over that period, to let it all go to shit, and not just fail to get back, but to spectacularly implode both on and off the pitch, to the point where we are now looking for the positives in being 17th in the Championship, ffs.

Better effort especially second half, just lacking the end product, looked more solid throughout but need composure in final third, just shows how much we have paid over the odds for our players but definitely a step in the right direction. Not being funny john but opposition up front was shocking Leon Clarke we should be dominating players of that ilk We should be doing a lot of things but haven't for years , not saying.it was great but two games now opposition not caused us any real problem and second half with composure we would have won but it's a long read back to anything decent from where we are and fans need to get that or it will get worse especially at home .

Yep. 6th highest net spend in England over the past 10 years. We are the only team in the top 25 highest spending teams in the world not playing in their nations’ top division. Totally unacceptable.
