I will never forget standing at the front of the terraces at Exeter in the corner. Mick comes over to take a corner, one of those tight grounds where to run up to kick the corner he was right against the hoardings. I patted him on the back and said "stick it on Blakeys head Mick" which he promptly did and turned around and said, "will that do ya"?
Some time after I was moving house, and the removals guys said the day before they were moving Mick into his house, somewhere in Stoke. Said he was a sound guy and at the end of the job he rolled out a crate of beers and stood around with the chaps having a chat over a couple of cold ones.
Tough as old boots was Mick and would probably get sent off most games these days!
RIP fella, 57 is no age. Was he ill does anyone know?

My memory of him is nailing a Bournemouth player with a savage tackle. Kennedy walked started walking off before the ref could pull out the red card. Now who was that Bournemouth player?

That Bournemouth player had been putting it about and Mick was just getting some retribution according to Graham Paddon if I recall it correctly, was it also his first game back as well after a previous sending off?

Yeah. Pulis had put a shocker in on one of our players - John butler I think. Ref did nothing so Kennedy got retribution in his own way

I remember he showed off a massive long throw on his debut........Never saw it again.
He made some gruesome tackles. Something we could really do with today.
RIP Mick. 57 no age.

Let’s not rewrite nostalgic history eh
He was despised by a large section of the support especially after that Bournemouth tackle and was a bit of a loose cannon on the pitch
RIP Mick

Thighs and calves looked like tree trunks, even from the back of the Boothen. RIP.
