Good evening,
We're not very good, are we? Not even close to being very good, are we? Not even close to being close to being very good, are we? š
NJ has got the problem now that he needs results and yet these big time Charlie's know the season is finished (as in nothing is happening).

I think that 10 years in the premiership has brought with it part time supporters who jumped on the rollercoaster years, and now are full of themselves expecting a swift return to the top tier as an automatic right Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the disgusting language aimed at individual players sickens me to the stomach. Ok we are not going to go anywhere this season so its not going to be pretty until Jones has the players that will perform for him. It will turn out ok next season fingers crossed Really enjoy your show and as an ex radio presenter wish you could get the live phone link sound sorted, last week it was difficult to hear your guest Cheers

Brace yourselves. It could be a long season. One thing is for sure. Nathan has got a big job on his hands. What a nightmare.

Greetings from the heartland of America
Looking forward to the show because it helps me keep in touch with my roots. Also gets me out of shoveling snow from the drive.
Bit of a mess isnāt it? I am very interested in your opinion on why Jonesās diamond isnāt working. Is it simply that we donāt have the right players for that system or something else Such as a) the players donāt understand the system or b) they donāt buy into a system imposed by an inexperienced manager promoted to his level of incompetence (the classic āPeter principleā)

Evening from the Isle of Wight
Well what do we say....Apart from not creating many chances (1 shot on target I believe) The positive is we didn't lose by a big margin. Those hoping for a big turn around with Jones at the helm have finally woken up to the reality that it's not going to happen quickly. Dare I mention his name again ā¦ but G.Rowett wasn't doing so bad was he... Anyway all we can hope for is an upturn in results. Once again, I am seeing people saying N.Jones isn't the right guy for the job. I honestly think all the chopping and changing of managers hasn't helped our situation at all. It time to stick with what we have and accept we are not that good and nothing will change for some time ! Keep smiling everyone ;-)

One yesterday said that Vokes was rubbish after seeing him just once. Some very childish comments being made by people who should know better.

Pejic says Rowett made us hard to beat. I agree with Mike Pejic and think that Rowett was gradually getting there. Having stepped in and destroyed whatever Rowett had achieved up to present, the Stoke Board will have to go through a similar experience with Nathan Jones.

Y'up you two.
Russ is right tbf., WBA weren't all that good at all.
It's just that we were so, so much worse.
And, if not covered specifically already, what on earth is going in with our strikers?
McClean? Shawcross?
Seriously?

The club just seems to be in a constant downward spiral, itās so frustrating. It really is. What went wrong? From a stable club in the premier league to a mid table championship side? Watching the game yesterday, we couldāve played for 3 hours and I donāt think we would have scored. Nathan Jones has a huge job on his hands here, I feel sorry for him. Itāll be interesting to see how season tickets sales go, fancy building a new corner only for it to be completely empty 12 months after. I think the problems run far more deeper than the players and coaches. Big changes are needed, but I fear the people āupstairsā are quite happy with our position. Letās face it, Bet 365 is the priority, not Stoke City football club.

I feel for Nathan Jones he was offered the job & duly took it without really looking at the bigger picture. I just wonder if he has bitten off more than he can chew & can handle the pressure that is building on a weekly basis. Does anybody else think a more experienced manager would have been a better appointment.

It didnt see us scoring yesterday. No balance in the team, a team that looked like they didnt know one another. A West Brom supporter i know nearly laughed himself sick when he realised McClean played up front - he cant shoot, cabt score and cant beat a man.

Yesterday was a good defensive performance bar one lapse in concentration. We had the majority of the possession and got into some good areas we just didnāt make full use of those positions. We are missing quality obviously but abit of luck wouldnāt go a-miss. Vokes held the ball up well and caused them some problems, mcclean was obviously used as a striker to defend from the front.

Yesterday we never layed a glove on West Brom and second half they didnāt need to get out of 2nd gear. We had players on the pitch that didnāt want to know again and the sooner we get 12/15 points to stay up the better. The players we have do not suit the system the manager wants to play and for that reason we need to revert back to the system we played against Leeds for the rest of the season. Then in the summer we work on the diamond formation ready for next season. Also Ange can you please ask the question about the situation that arose yesterday regarding getting off Hemheath car park. Some moron decided to put cones down making the the traffic past Greens just one lane instead of the usual 2.Now for the last 5/6 years there hasnāt been a problem but yesterday some jobsworth created this issue that doesnāt normally excist. To sit and wait nearly an hour after the shit we had to watch yesterday just adds to the matchday frustration

Russ: āLack of investmentā is a myth. There was table on the Oatcake this week that showed we had the 13th highest net spend over the 10 years IN THE WORLD and 6th in England.

I think we have good players, but they're not a team, and it looks unlikely that anyone can make a team from this particular group.
Basically, we have a lot of good jigsaw pieces, but they're not necessarily to the same puzzle.
We probably need five players, a mixture of leaders, characters and hard nuts, all with the relevant footballing attributes to make Nathan's diamond work.

When Sam Vokes was asked by Phil Lawton about his first impressions playing in front of the home crowd he sounded like Gareth Gates trying to get his words out. I bet it felt like a European night at Anfield for the lads.

Evening guys. I think far too much emphasis has been put on the managers comments. Ask him again tomorrow when his emotions are in check and you get a different answer.
I know it's not realistic to get shot of the majority of the players, but surely a fire sale isn't out of the question to give Jones a head start in starting to build his team next season?
For the people lacking patience, get used to it or find another hobby. We won't be a complete outfit next season either. The job Jones has got is absolutely monumental.

These are largely different players than Hughes and Lambert used. Only four of the starters were here under those managers, and one of them, Edwards was barely used. We've swapped one set of losers for another
Brynjar Gunnarsson never played for West Brom by the way.

Put McClean anywhere near a defensive position and we'll be down to ten men very quickly.
Firstly he can't tackle, and secondly referees are looking for reasons to book him judging by what's happened this season.

You want a 15 goal striker. Have we already got one in Diouf. He got 12 against prem defences when played as a striker. Why doesnāt he get a try against championship defences. Worse than McLean?
