Terrible that this keeps happening
RIP Little ones.
This may seem unpopular and insensitive but;
Everyone else check your electrics and get an alarm.
Just before Christmas there was a house fire derby way where a woman and her kids died but the husband survived. Caused by old faulty Christmas lights. Tragic as the one in Stafford today.
But for Christ sake people, try and make your house as safe as possible.
Some of these accidents can be avoided

It's excellent advice. It's given me the idea to check our smoke alarms when I get home tonight, and I'll be mentioning it to some mates at work and my 85 year old parents as well. RIP to those that perished today. Absolutely awful beyond words.

Absolute tragedy. Hearts go out to the family, and also our incredible emergency service that once again stared death and tragedy in the face.

Given the time this was more than likely either the last or the first job for the fire crews that attended.
How the fuck do you go home or crack on with your day as normal after this?
Whatever they’re paid it’s nowhere near enough. That applies to all emergency services.

Whatever they’re paid it’s nowhere near enough. That applies to all emergency services. I used to work with a bloke who worked the job that we were doing, had his own house to house gardening business and was also an on call Fire man...he'd sometimes go days without sleeping!

Absolutely awful beyond words. I don't know if you have to be a pensioner but the fire brigade came and assessed and fitted fire alarms for my mum. It may even have been the council on a carers risk assessment. A panic alarm is about £1 a week and the smoke alarms directly alert to the fire brigade. I advise anyone with elderly parents to ring the council and see what they're entitled to. Even if you have to pay surely it'd better to get the fire brigade to fit them and you know they'll be of a good standard.

Two youngish people who may not of had the best of lives trying to make a go with five young children
Four of which die in a horrific fire that puts them and the youngest in hospital plod comes along during there what must be unimaginable grief And charges them with possible neglect/ man slaughter charges
Meanwhile the McCanns a pair of hospital consultants have spent the last decade swanning around the world raking in thousands Guilty of neglect at least Plod spends thousands on holidays to Portugal not a charge in sight
STRANGE WORLD WE LIVE IN

So leaving a small child alone un supervised whilst going out on the piss is not neglect Which part of that needs more evidence As I said strange world
