I think that you are right, but I actually can't remember..was that a definite actual pit.... I seem to recall that it ended in y/ my....I'll investigate. I played my football on "the Green", at the top of Withington Road, Sprinkbank or Tunstall park and then on some pitch in Newchapel in the Sunday leagues [/quote Wasn't it something like " Bemmersley"?.... I've just googled it, Norton Colliery was at Bellerton lane....my dad wasn't at Norton? Bellerton was the pit closest to Milton, as far as I know. Bemmersley Lane, is the tip at Knypo. It perhaps was once a pit, as a 70's kid it always smoked and stunk of sulphur in summer, not sure whether it was ever a coal pit. Don't recall ever seeing a pit head nor any workings there in the 70's. There was The Bull {Victoria} Brindley Ford.

Was it also known as Black bull? That was the boozer in Brindley Ford, funnily enough and not just coincidentally, down the road from The Matador!

Working at a Hospital with people (or animals) who actually can't be cured or at least get much better.
* But I would gladly work as a researcher, developing new methods and robot searching medicine within regenerative medicine.
