He's not very good. Just like all our other defenders. So it's not even worth a try then? Can we at least sell him and make a small net profit? Categorically not good enough for league 1

We could bring back Wolly as well - just imagine Wimmer and Wolly as our CB pairing ! If we did at least it might cheer the crowd up as they wouldn't be able to stop laughing. If people think that Solskajer has put smiles back on faces at Man U just think what a WW formation might do at Stoke, but unfortunately without a lift in performances.

Woolly played regularly in our highest two finishes for 35 years , it’s pathetic the stick him and Wilson get on here when you look at what’s happened since they left

Wollscheid would walk into this defence with his eyes closed.
Not a chance would any of the current lot play in a team, substituting for an in form but injured Shawcross with the hapless Given and Haugaard behind them, for an entire season and help a side finish 9th in the PL and keep a clean sheet away at Anfield in a cup semi final.
Not a single chance.
They can't keep a clean sheet at home to Wigan.

Mr Wimmer apparently has a binding contract purchase clause in his hannover contract. If he plays 24 games in the season they are obliged to buy him for 12 million euros, 11 so far and 2 in the cup.. With 18 games to go until the end of the bundesliga season Kevin needs to play 11 of them. Hannover are currently bottom of the bundesliga with help from our Kevin 😁 Well if they are going down I can't see them being keen to commit 12m euros on someone who has played 13 games (out of say 20, CBA to check maximum), so presumably he'll get to 20 (save 3 in case they have a major injury crisis) and you'll never see him in thr shirt again. www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/739986/artikel_breitenreiter_kevin-wimmer-hat-sich-stark-verbessert.html?ddt=1

We are obviously in the need of 1 or 2 faster central defenders. At some Point we had a guy called Kevin Wimmer here. I don't remember him at all. Did he really have 17 chances? I must have been unable to follow Stoke during that short period, at least on TV (and irl since I live hundreds of miles away). So I ask the one's who have actually seen him play? What are his pros and cons? Can he really be worse than what we have atm? What's wrong with Kevin Wimmer, if anything? Is it Worth trying to get him back?? Is it even possible? When? I hear Stoke are paying a big chunk of his money. Bring him back and put him through a super intensive training regime. He's been let off far too easily.

To be fair he looks thin in that pic.
Bezzies with probably one of the top 10 players in the league at the moment

I watched their game on Friday evening, he was on the bench and didnt get on, even into a defence that was losing at home 3-0

I don't know. Can he move his body quickly in all the right directions? Can he pass the ball to the players waiting for it? Good at free kicks? Headers? A great penalty taker? Long throw ins? I'm wondering why £18M.You and everyone else mate. The figure of £18 for a serious underachiever has become something of a standing joke at this club. If only it was £18

Wollscheid would walk into this defence with his eyes closed. It's good to have options, if any of our present central defence stars gets injured or something, even if Wollscheid isn't exactly Chiellini, Maguire or Lindelöf.

Hannover are bottom of the Bundesliga with 11 points, conceding over 2 a game.
He’s an overweight unfit ‘professional’ who seems to care more about getting selfies with the spurs squad than he does for playing for Stoke. Cut our losses, get him gone and get in a Clarke from Pompey.

I think it turned out that we'd only paid £13m for him, and £18m was just the headline figure based on conditions that are as unlikely to be met as the ones at his current club.

We could bring back Wolly as well - just imagine Wimmer and Wolly as our CB pairing ! I don't think there is any comparison. Wolly was the most awkward looking players I have seen. He used to make glaring errors and invariably let the opposition through to score (or miss) at least once a match. He did put his heart and sole into his play and occasionally had a good game, but he was never up to Prem. standard and I doubt he would be much better than what we have now as I think our present 3 CBs have dropped to Wolly's standard. Wimmer was just useless. He had no positional sense and the game went on around him and he was never involved other than being beaten by the opponents. He obviously must have been a good player in the past, otherwise Spurs would never have signed him. I think, like a lot of sportsmen, once they have been out of the game at the top level for a period of time they lose their edge and never get it back. Wimmer spent too long sitting on the bench not competing, which we have seen with others like Bony. It is very unusual for a top class sportsmen to get back to the top of their profession. Federa has done it in tennis after dropping out in 2016 due to injury, but he is an exception. It is clearly different for women who drop out to have children and can still get back to the top. Many stars do come back from injuries but few achieve the level they used to be at. An exception is Lance Armstrong but his achievements are now tainted by his confessed drug taking.

The slap that Pieters gave Wolly when he was having a mental breakdown on the pitch was as comical as it was tragic.

What is wrong with Summer? Let's forget about his skill level and look more at his character. He came here and played against his old club Spurs and we got thrashed. At the end of the game he was do happy applauding fans and hugging ex team mates. Not one ounce of emotion shown of a man who is passionate about his club, his fan and defeat. He could be the great centre back on the books and I would have him nowhere near out sqaud. He isn't interested and no winning mentality for the cause! Carried on gushing about his emotional day on Instagram later as well as I recall
