It looks like Maro Itoje has done a medial ligament in his knee and could miss the rest of the 6 Nations. He was excellent in Dublin and would be a big loss for England. Joe Launchbury from Wasps is his likely replacement.
A couple of stats that surprised me - that was Manu Tuilagi's first 6 Nations start since 2013, and Johnny May's try was England's first in Dublin since 2011 !

Typical from Eddie Jones, he says the team "are still improving and nowhere near their best". link

I'd start Lawes and have Launchbury on the bench. The French pack's massive so we could do with Courtney smashing them up early doors.

England 5 France 0... After only 3 mins, great start 👍
Edit... FT England 44 France 8 .. Great performance by England, but France were utterly woeful.

I tried to start a thread on this a few years ago and got shouted down by keyboard warriors.
England V France. Wow we look like world beaters at 35. Mins. I am however a Stokie so will reserve my opinions until the end.
Can never understand why some football supporters have a down on Rugby.
Finally as I am typing this France have scored a Try !!

England peaking nicely for the World Cup. It's not like France have actually played that bad, they've just been blown away.

How good to hear the Referee to talk to the VDR and award a penalty try.
I know it will never happen in Football, but maybe some people will realise how difficult it can be to be a Referee.
This Welsh Guy has been brilliant in my opinion.

Superb first half from England with 4 tries and a bonus point by half-time. Second half I thought we controlled periods of the game but the substitutions disrupted the flow too much and the French were a little better - didn't score though did they It's going to be a really tough game in Cardiff - 6 Nations decider more than likely. Gatland v Jones tactical battle. Goooaaarrrnnnn England !!!!

I'm with you Ray - my main sporting passion was football (well Stoke anyway !) but my enthusiasm and "pashun" has generally diminished lately. Also a big rugby union fan, and follow England and Sale Sharks. I can't see the problem in loving both sports. Also a huge cycling fan (Team Sky), cricket fan (England and Notts) and NFL (Kansas City Chiefs). I think it makes it way more interesting if you are actively involved supporting a team.

I don't think there is anything wrong with liking/following more than one sport, for me it's Football (well Stoke I have lost interest in watching "general" games) rugby League (Warrington) NFL (Houston Texans) and cricket (Lancs) also the international rugby Union with little interest in the league side of it (although I do look out for Exeter's results)

I have to show a passing concern for rugby, but some of their fans are w@#&ers of the $#!t variety. I so know what you’re saying about being a Stoke only fan. I’ll watch other teams, but don’t really care. Anyway, I watched till half time without cheering once. I guess they won. I didn’t recognise one player other than the kicker, who I think plays for Bath, but I may be wrong. AgainXx

The game in Wales will be a real battle as Gatland has really got them firing on all cylinders and it likely to be winner takes all for the title. I think England will continue to improve for the WC and it'll come down to us, NZ, or Ireland for the winner.

I go to the Good Friday Wigan v St Helen's match every year, always want St Helen's to win. I enjoy it but couldn't really go more regularly ,as Bath says I think that you need more emotional commitment to really enjoy it.

Big win for England today v Italy- 57-14. Good solid performance with 8 tries, but it was a little bit disjointed early in the second half so the win could have been even greater. Good to see Manu Tuilagi back to his best and score a couple of tries in the process.
Sadly Wales won in Scotland so if they beat Ireland in Cardiff next weekend they win the Grand Slam.
Come on Ireland !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Add in the fact Jonathon Joseph is on the way back and we haven't seen Antony Watson for a year now, we've got some real strength in depth to pick from. Btw, I don't get Eddie's fascination with Ben Te'o, he just doesn't do enough for me and Manu showed him up today. Get Slade back in for next week for sure.

Salde should be picked for the Scotland game. Don't forget we've also got Maro Itoje to come back as well in time for the World Cup (hopefully).

May Nowell CokanasigaAshton Solomona Lozowski Daly WatsonBrown Manu Slade JosephTe'o Rokoduguni Devoto ThorleyEastmond Burrell Yarde … I've probably forgot a couple as well I don't know how big the World Cup squad will be but the one's in bold would be my definite picks if fit (outside of the Fly half position) I think Thorley is going to be a star, been very impressed with him at Gloucester. This is with Eddie not even contemplating Goode or Cipriani as well.

First round of matches in this year's 6 Nations this weekend.
Wales v Italy - even without Warren Gatland in charge Wales should easily beat Italy Ireland v Scotland - Ireland should comfortably beat the Scots France v England - difficult start for England against a new look French team with more flair but less experience. England "should" win but new look France could spring a surprise with home advantage.
William Hill has England as favourites to win the tournament.
Really looking forward to it.
England 5/6 Ireland 4/1 Wales 5/1 France 11/2 Scotland 25/1 Italy 500/1

england at 5/6! - really poor value imo. They are justifiably favourites but 2-1 would be a fair price.
Looking forward to it starting

Has Eddie signed a new contract? I thought the Aussies were sniffing him out? Not yet - he's contracted to August 2021, but the RFU are apparently "in no rush" to get him signed up just yet. You'd think they would want it all signed so we've got some continuity for the build up to the next World Cup in France in 2023. I suppose they may have someone else already lined up to take over from him.
