Gets a mention in the Mirror, but who knows if it's still a possibility? www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-deadline-day-13923869BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA Villa and Stoke to go head-to-head for Luton full-backCould be a busy day ahead at Aston Villa. Tyrone Mings due to be the first through the door on loan from Bournemouth. They are also after a holding midfielder and keen on either Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah or Newcastle’s Isaac Hayden. The arrival at Newcastle of Andreas Samaris from Benfica would free up Hayden to leave. Villa are also want Luton’s impressive and versatile full back James Justin. Stoke like Justin too and are now managed by his former Luton boss Nathan Jones which could give the Potters an advantage. I think it's one we'll just have to put a pin in. IF Villa are able to get to the table then, of course, I hope we can react and are prepared to do so, but I get the impression that Luton simply aren't interested this window in selling key players, especially after they've just lost their manager (and got a little windfall from that).

That would imply they'd had a bid accepted but it was talks with the player which broke down. Presumably that means we could now match their bid and hold talks with him as well if we wanted? That reads to me that the player was happy to stay after talks with the club Luton. It states the bid was rejected, and so the player would not have been allowed to speak to Villa.

Still seems very unlikely to my mind, but who do we think could be the player going the other way? Edwards? (You'd think it very unlikely to be Bauer or Erik).

Don't think this will go through.
Maybe in the summer.

Maybe someone who started our last league game at left-back? Did wonder to myself last night whether they would consider Tymon FM so think you could be spot on.

Fell through because JJ wants to play for NJ.
As Viller made bid, we can also so the fact that it has fallen through doesn't impact on us progressing with ours. Fee £4.3m

Fee £4.3m It all depends on whether the Villa offer was actually accepted by Luton, I haven't seen anything which confirms whether that is the case or not.

Doesn't sound like they're missing Jones! It is the sign of s good manager when the high standards he created remain long after he has left. The TP effect took three years to fade at SCFC. That'll be why his replacement managed to achieve three higher-placed finishes in those years presumably?

I always thought this was more likely to be a summer move, if at all. Of course, if Luton come up, he could decide to see how things go there.

Didn't think we could go back in for Luton players this window? (Or did I dream that?) Lee from SL&P seems to think that if someone makes a bid then we are free to match it. Lee from SL&P knows absolutely nothing. He wants you to think he does, but he doesn't. SGS
