Crouch is very close to the end Sad to hear, he's kept that quiet! Wonder if I can get him to leave me Abby in his will?

Just off junction 10 of M65 going towards Padiham. Not been to a game this season as Stoke was wrecking my weekends when visiting family. Nice one. I'm in barrowford off j13 I was the Site Manager for a construction company back in 1982 and was in charge of rebuilding the sewage treatment works in Earby, so I know the area quite well. The Craven Valley is a lovely area. If anyone is remotely interested in that amazing fact.

Vokes is another journeyman touching thirty. Burnley know we are a soft touch. Will this shambles of a club ever sign some young players or do we continue paying over the odds for ageing has-beens?.

How on Earth is Peter Crouch getting a move back into the Premier League? I know he's essentially replacing Vokes who didn't play much but he's sitting on a PL bench rather than a Championship one despite being pretty useless for at least 18 months. Great lad but wow, I bet he can't believe his luck.

A very good centre forward at Championship level and an excellent header of the ball. If we can only give him some service and decent crosses I think we will soon see his value. We might even score from a corner!

7m feels better than 9m. (Im a sucker in the January sales!) Crouch is a great - but it would be senitment over sense to keep him now. Lots to do to recreate a competitive Stoke team and it needs the bigger earning players off the wage bill as a general rule.

Quotes from Dyche...
"It made sense for everyone"
"Sam felt a new challenge was right for him and the fee quickly got to a level where it worked for both parties.
"We don't do it purely for that, but when everything is factored in, it made sense for everyone."

Close to bollocks that my friend. Vokes game will not deteriorate with age at anywhere close the speed of others. Relatively injury free and a solid foil for anyone who likes to run on. There is 3 years of benefit to us and an established PL transition player. Unlike Afobe balls won't just bounce off him and he will cause defenders problems with his physicality. Just what we've been missing and adds a spine to the team. If £7m is true plus add one we've done very well.

Great lad but wow, I bet he can't believe his luck. I am not sure how he fits in at Burnley? I don't get it? But he would be okay in a forward line with out and out pace, except for Crouchy With a couple of speedsters up top ( ie not stoke) Crouchy would be a threat, because if you have to drop deep and you let in him into your penalty Box, he is hard to stop, especially in the air.

I must be the only person who thinks this is a good deal, the Burnley fans are gutted to lose him and he easily has three years in the tank. He's exactly the type of striker we need, don't see the sense in signing someone else just because they're younger.

Not at all - good signing and a good deal all round. 29 is no age for striker who's main job is to hold up the ball and bring those around him into play - in fact the more intelligent players they often have an Indian Summer to their career (as with some centre backs). Strikers whose game is based on pace (Owen/Rashford) are on the wane at that age - unless they can adapt their game.

I think it’s a brilliant deal, sad to see Crouchy go who has been a legend for us, but all things considered this is superb for us.

Fans are beginning to turn on him though and there are signs from the player himself that he thinks he's getting a raw deal from the fans and they aren't backing him and the team enough. Generally when that process starts it doesn't have a happy ending. He needs goals and quickly if he's going to turn his Stoke career around.
