Agreed.
If there is any fire with this smoke, it hopefully represents a not-to-be-missed opportunity to move him along, re-purpose his (ott) wages and get a decent fee.
Otherwise, as ably described elsewhere, our expensive squaddies on big contracts are going to be nigh on impossible to shift without committing commercial suicide.
There are / will be plenty of up and comers who can do that job. Said before, over to whoever to do whatever to spot them and sign them up pronto.

Keep him, looked great today in the CF position he's a good option to have on the bench if we need to change it. He reminded me of a poor mans Jonny Walters. Time will tell - but do we want to take the risk? Yeah he's got a similar work rate to JW probably needs a bit of time to adjust to that position, thought he stretched there defense with his pace and power.Id have to agree as a winger he doesn't quite have enough pace to compensate for his lack of ball control.

Usain Bolt on double chicken nuggets ain't quick enough to offset that deficiency.

James McClean's next club
Always assuming he does leave, the bookies have been busy weighing up a likely destination for James McClean.
He’s already been extensively linked with a move to Forest and a re-union with new boss Martin O’Neill, the winger’s manager for both Ireland and Sunderland.
“He’s hardly a wet week with Stoke, but winger James McClean is currently a 5/2 shot to wing his way to Nottingham Forest to join his former boss,” says a spokesperson for Paddy Power.
Their full odds are:
5/2: Nottingham Forest
5/1: Celtic
14/1: Cardiff
16/1: Burnley
18/1: Brighton

Just my Irishness coming out 😉 Derry is for losers, sore or otherwise and I will continue to call it LONDONDERRY. The people of Derry have the right to call it Derry. The people of Londonderry have the right call it Londonderry. At what point were the people of Stoke-On-Trent given the right to decide someone else's identity?
