Gayle century of 55 balls.
Currently 220 for 2 after 23 overs, they only need 199 more to win from 27 overs.
They couldn't do it.......could they ?
Edit : Phew - Wood gets rid of Bravo, quickly followed by Hetmyer - 226 for 4 !

Something possibly along these lines - Great knock son, now watch how the daddy does it! Awesome also from Gayle. Great entertainment.

Phew - good effort by Windies but 389 all out !
4 wickets in 5 balls for 0 runs ! An almost England style collapse ! Well done Rashid.

Just Wow!!!!
800+ runs, 3 brilliant centuries and England squeak home.
I think I need to go for a lie down!

4 in 5!
I tried to get a price on Windies being bowled out about 15 minutes ago but couldn't find anyone offering it.

Extra special credit to Morgan for his captaincy - we needed wickets to win the game and he had the balls to hand the ball to his leggie for the 48th over. Outstanding.

4 in 5! I tried to get a price on Windies being bowled out about 15 minutes ago but couldn't find anyone offering it. that would be the same as England win[almost] and the price for England was 1/5 even when gayle was still in so wouldn't have been a very good bet

I think we have an outstanding chance for the world cup this year.we have the batsmen to get us out of trouble just need them to be a little patient and get in first before getting out!!

That was a great game by both sides. I tuned in when England had 10 overs to bat, 154 they scored in that time and brilliant batting when Buttler had his eye in, any ball could see boundary. Gayle also as good for the Windies and the beauty of one day cricket the game was in the balance throughout the Windies innings.

Still concerned about the bowling for the World Cup. One game the batsman will fail, the nature of the way they play, and I can’t see the bowlers winning the game for us. Hope I’m wrong!

I am also but the one day format is a batsmen game and we have a batting line up that can set/chase pretty much anything. I think the squad will be: Hales Bairstow Roy Morgan Root Buttler Stokes Denly Moeen Ali Woakes S.Curran Rashid Plunkett Wood Archer Archer is an X factor bowler so for me should come in for Willey who for me just hasn't progressed.....

Tough choice at the top of the order (such a contrast to the test top order!). Previously I would have backed Hales and Roy to open but Bairstow looked good yesterday and I struggle to see how we get all three in which is a shame because they’re all extremely good openers. Unless we drop someone like Moeen and play Roy Hales Bairstow Root Morgan Butler Stokes in the top 7.

Is Root an automatic pick in one day Cricket?!.. not saying he shouldn't be in the team but I can think of other players who would be more of a concrete choice in the team than him, imo.

5th ODI and bloody hell...….113 all out after 28.1 overs - looks like they were on the beach today. We lost our last 5 wickets for 2 runs !
Windies currently 95-3 after 9 overs ! Gayle 19 ball half century - out for 77 off 27 balls !
It's "performances" like this that cast a huge question mark over our World Cup chances. We're just so inconsistent.
