The Chinese were going to build a new port in PNG, but thank god Australia stepped in Greece one of the largest maritime country’s in the world. Guess who are building and own the major ports, and gateway into Europe? China.

They haven't invaded or change the government and taken over the state oil company though.. Think you might need to start your own thread about the evil USA.

I genuinely believe if China ever threatened Taiwan with invasion, the international outcry would be far too overwhelming, they are nowhere near powerful enough yet! Its a strange one. The Taiwanese see themselves as Chinese, just a different kind of Chinese (?!?) and want to self-govern. China will meddle and influence but nothing more. Its a shame they don't do democracy in that part of the world. Would be the most one-sided referendum ever!

If China invaded Taiwan, I don't think there would be much of an international outcry. China is far too important an economic power for most countries. How much outcry is there over human rights in China? How about the ethnic cleansing of Uighurs? A minority of Taiwanese see themselves as Chinese. The majority see themselves as mainly Taiwanese and resent the Chinese. The ones that identify as Chinese, however, tend to be the rich and powerful ones.

I think you're right there will be no appetite from the West beyond limp protest should China follow up it's threats on Taiwan. It's got history, Tibet, the Uighurs as you say one million held in political camps for "re-education", Chairman Mao would be proud, the constant undermining of the political system in HK building bridges to symbolically link HK to the mainland with no economic benefit to the masses. The fake islands are there to claim the seas and are representative of China's expansion into the area otherwise the adjacent countries would not be protesting.
The don't have to imprison American and Australian citizens but they are doing so.

Ssen PF twice in that there London, once immediately after Millwall away! Talk about chalk&cheese I went up to the MEN in Manchester with a mate. The lad was 14 at the time and kicked off when he realised I hadn't asked him reason being that he'd said no to that many concerts I'd given up asking him by then. At the concert I found out due to popular demand they'd put another night on so I got the tickets there and then and went back with the lad a few weeks later. It was his favourite gig until the Arctic Monkeys last year
I don't know why you're surprised unless it's the politics/ drugs angle. I would never let my sensibilities get in the way of great music. I love the Final Cut even though he has a few digs at the Goddess Thatcher in the same way that Blue by the Fine Young Cannibals is an awesome song. Billy Bragg is also one of my favourite artists although he's got a shit line in politics
