He started well but since the first couple of games he's been pretty poor, sod knows why given how highly rated he was.

Playing with Joe Allen will do that to you.

I'm all for learning to be calm when we're playing it out of defence but his needless dribbling on our 18 yard line pisses me off.

He’s not very good at anything that influences games , no forward momentum , and a liability in front of the defence , Greg % passer no contribution , said it before Adam is a better player at Kesey he can do one of those things and I hope he starts Tuesday

Every player we've signed in the last 3 years has become worse. ..or that's how it seems

Such a shame as he looked a great player. The problem is the shape of the team is all wrong as we have three players who don’t fit the system. He’d be excellent alongside a big physical player in a 442 but I don’t know where he fits in a diamond. I think Etebos far better suited to where he was playing today.

Playing with a team that lacks any effective movement will always stifle a player like Woods. However, he isn't blameless, Woodsys form has slipped in the last month at least.

Have defended Woods following recent criticism but he was very poor today. Just can't see how he has the defensive presence needed for the base of a midfield diamond. I wonder whether he'd do better slightly further up the pitch playing where Allen did today?

It wasn't so much Woods's passing as the issue, but his all-round play including his faffing around and getting caught in possession in dangerous areas (as well as zero interceptions and weak in the tackle). Strangely enough, I've been critical of Clucas, but I actually thought the left-side of the diamond suited him. Whether he's right for that position long-term I don't know but he certainly put himself about much more than he does in a 4141. He still makes far too little impression on a game though.

We have 3 midfielders who have no impact on any game. 3 midfielders who are all exactly the same and have the same limitations.

Use the Allen money to buy a pacey, tough tackling, genuine DCM.

He doesn't come across as someone unafraid of mixing things up to find the best combo.

Such an average player. Doesn’t do anything that your run of the mill footballer couldn’t do. Over hyped, over rated. Same can be said about the rest of the squad really. Doesn’t influence games, gets caught in possession regular in dangerous areas. Needs a run out of the side imo

Thats 8 months playing with the furthest point forward being the half way line, whilst constantly trying to mop up the mistakes from a shite back 4

To be honest he's the only thing keeping our midfield from completely collapsing. Not sure what he's supposed to do to cover for 2 other centre mids who are in no man's land and 2 centre halves who have the sharpness of a sponge.

Was it just that his style fitted the way Brentford played like a glove? Is he trying to play that position too much when it doesn’t really exist in the way it did at Brentford?

Interesting comment from their forum about Woods “Although a good player, far too often he slowed the play down unnecessarily”
