I wish we still had him, one thing for sure is we wouldn't have been relegated if we hadn't sold him. Just imagine looking forward to Saturday afternoon with Arnie, Shaq, N'Zonzi and a pre knee injury Bojan strolling out on the pitch. Gouranga. Really hope we can experience something like that again in not a too distant future.

If anyone offered me 4 times my wages I be off like a shot Yeah but when your on 100k a week and are offered 400k what really is the point, can you honestly spend or need that much when youre already minted ? Ask Denise Coates.

Gouranga.

Probably the work of his brother to get a better deal off west ham. Anderson, Perez yarmalenko have all come in and must be on better wages than arnie. Smacks of pay me more or I'll go

top six club in england no chance....in china maybe If Shaqiri is good enough to play for Liverpool (which he is) then Arnie is also good enough for the same level, he'd get plenty of games for any of the top 6 sides. I was disappointed when he left Stoke but he's still an excellent player and I'd rather he stayed in English football, he's far too good to be wasting his career in China. Spot on. If you’re judging on talent alone and you ignore the circumstances surrounding his departure, he’s right up there alongside N’Zonzi for me as the best Stoke player of the Premier League era. Shaqiri was quality, but I would take Arnie over him every day of the week. The way it ended left a sour taste, but let’s not rewrite history - he was fucking incredible for us, has been for West Ham and he wouldn’t be out of place in a top six side at all.

a few years back i saw this coming in him and pointed out he was all that was wrong with modern football, i got shot down but in time he showed his colours, not doubting his brilliance at times but more often than not i saw nothing but petulance and selfishness
oh well we had a good time with him....
wonder what odds we would get on him having 12 months in China then ending up back in a mid table prem club on stupid wages

I'm sure he'll be ambitious to spread the development of football in China! With his considerable intellectual skills, I am sure he will do a grand job.

July 2017 he left. Wonder when we'll finally get over it !!
Couldn't give a rats arse where he goes or what he earns .
The fact he and Shaqiri still command threads on here is testament enough to what they achieved for us .
Unfortunately modern day footballers and indeed managers are mere mercenaries. The only loyalty is us fans.
Been going on years the greed of players, Bertie Biggins kissing his badge then signed for Barnsley was it ( or Celtic) 2 days later.
Money is god. Arnie is no different.
