Catastrophe is back on the screens tonight. Yes I've watched all the previous series of Two Doors Down - quite funny. Beth and Eric are always on the receiving end of whatever happens, Colin and Cathy are really annoying and Christine is a pain in the arse. I preferred the first two series tbh but overall it's quite good. I wasn't impressed with last night's episode though.

Yeah just watched it as it popped up on series link. It was ok. Some great bits, some cringeworthy moments. Mainly disappointed because I thought it was a new series of Still Game. Something inherently funny about pensioners swearing.

Another excellent episode last night and a fair few perfectly scripted digs at English/ Scottish perceptions of each other. Fabulous ending with 5 minutes on the Scottish referendum I had an insight into why Partick gets so engaged on the subject

Yes, the English-Scottish "relationship" was certainly covered, as well as the divisions in the Scottish Indyref. Another good episode with some well defined characters - I'd avoid Christine and Cathy like the plague !

Its very underrated Two Doors Down, I'd say. Catastrophe is rightly lauded for the subtle genius it is.

I had a chuckle last night when Cathy said that she's voted against independence because she needed access to Manchester airport

It's also been fairly open about Ian and Gordon's gay relationship and I thought it was quite funny last night when Christine turned to Gordon and was talking to him about it and then said "Tell me Gordon, does it hurt" ?

I think the two female protagonists are fantastically well played, there's no holds barred and if the language was any bluer it would be pushed back further than 10 O'clock.

I see Cathy was her usual obnoxious, argumentative, jealous self again last night. Glad to see she got her just reward at the end.

Yeah, really funny. It's definitely got better with each series.
It looks like that was the last episode of the series and as yet there's no plans to bring it back again next year. It'd be a real shame if that was the end.

It'd be a real shame if that was the end. That's a real shame if that is the last one ever made. At least I can track down the earlier episodes.

On the subject of Scottish comedy has anyone been watching "Still Game" ? It's sort of a mix of Last of the summer wine meets Rab C. Nesbitt. Some well defined characters and a few good one liners.

Not seen Still Game. Are the one liners anywhere near as good as this? Rab: "Mary, you and I go back too far to let a pound of dead meat come between us." Mary: "Let's leave our sex life out of this."

It took me an episode to get into it but once I did I thought it was really good.

Superb comedy, D. You can't help but laugh at pensioners with a very jaundiced view of youth and who swear like navvies. Brilliant stuff.

Sorry to see it was the last ever episode of Still Game this week. It's been a really well written, well acted, funny series. Always quite a few really funny one liners every week. We also finally got to see Navid's wife Meena's face just before the end whereas she's usually been obscured by something.
Sorry to see it finish.

Feel like a chapter of my life has ended. I've just started watching again from the start on Netflix!
