This is why the board are a huge part of the problem. Zero inspiration yet again.

Suggests Big Sam and Jokanovic could be in the shake-up if Moyes says no
Sam Allardyce and Slavisa Jokanovic could come under consideration, but former Everton and Manchester United manager Moyes is the first choice of Coates family and chief executive Tony Scholes.

Moyes will take us deeper into trouble.

Wouldn’t be my choice of the three.
That poll reflects that as well.
But still better than Rowett.

I'd be happy enough with Moyes.
Then again, I was happy with Rowett so what the fuck do I know!?

That comment about scholes is exactly why it should not be Moyes , not big Sam we can see the comsequences of too many cost relationships already and Moyes three recent failures suggest familiarity over best choice playing too big an influence ,

but in the scheme of things, after how shite the Board were last time round, I'm delighted we're having these conversations at all, sssshhhh but we may even be in danger of getting something right and behaving like, well, an actual football club...

Who the hell do people expect us to attract in our current situation ? Sam Allardyce & David Moyes have both managed at the highest level and either would be good appointments in my opinion.

I know we’ve done 10yrs in the premier and all that bollocks but if you’d have told me at any time in my 40yr Stoke supporting ‘career’ that we’d be courting former Man Utd and England managers I’d have laughed in your face, as would 99% of poeple on here if they’re honest.

I thought he did a really good job at West Ham last season and was unlucky not to be kept on. he also spotted what 20k Stokies had been saying for years and played Arnie as a striker not a winger.
Maybe not revolutionary but certainly evolutionary.

If Coates is still hoping of a play off place this season it has to be Big Sam it would not be pretty but he gets results when needed. Moyes would possibly get us back up but would take possibly a couple of seasons while he builds his own team.

Moyes looks like the unanimous choice of everyone in the boardroom. If Peter and Jon wanted Moyes and Scholes wanted Allardyce what would be your opinion then? If my mother was my auntie ..., it’ clearly says Moyes is the choice of board and scholes , if scholes wanted allardyce it wouldn’t say it , I was commenting on the quote . Ive nailed my colours to the mast in my view allardyce is the best we could get , he’d come for the right deal and we won’t get him because he will challenge the status quo , the process would be dead the day he walked in , Moyes not so he’s no body’s fool but he his position simply isn’t as strong , the view in the game in Moyes will be this is his chance to prove he can still do it in the right envirnmenr the view on Sam would be when will he do it

Maybe not revolutionary but certainly evolutionary. tbf Ed., and if I remember rightly and am not dreaming, Arnie's imediate post signing hype from PC himself (I think) was that Arnie was also very adept at a central role and they would have no hesitation at playing him there.
Shame LMH never got the memo on that one.
