Muddled. Though I’m not sure you can sum it up in one word. There seem to be different things going on with different people all pulling in different directions. Maybe rudderless would be more appropriate.

Cant be indecisive, you don't get to where the Coats family have got by being indecisive. I fear they might be gullible and easily tricked. Some people who get to the top just might know where to tickle them. I've seen it so many times in family run companies.

They need time to think, Saturdays game isn't a big one in the grand scheme of things so if they are considering it there's no harm in taking a little time and putting the feelers out for any potential replacement.

Rightly or wrongly Mr coates clearly let's his employees get on with things and is very loyal,arguably too loyal, especially to those who may have served him well in the past.
With rumour and conjecture being presented as facts about all manner of things it's just hard to know right now where the angst should be aimed.
A new broom, sweeping all but the owners out of the club is the only thing that will bring peace, harmony, patience and tolerance back to the club.
Scholes came to the club essentially as an accountant. The problems in my opinion and based on what I believe to be true, is that our problems started when his remit was increased beyond his original role and he started to have influence on football matters.

The power behind The Coates family is obviously Denise. The football club is run like a Conference team. On and off the pitch we are small time.
The 150th Celebrations perfectly illustrated that. They were an absolute joke. There has been mistake after mistake and we've pissed absolutely millions up the wall on shit players and long term contracts. I fear for us I really do.

Problem with that is that if we win they'll give him a few more games If they are thinking/discussing whether he goes or not they shouldn't be taking the result of that game into account, they wanted him to get us into the top 6 this season, if they think he's failing at that and not looking likely to change it then I can't see a cup game making any difference. |

It’s ponderous and completely impotent, this would be the case irrespective of the manager. How can you have a “complete overhaul” and leave 2/3rds of the key components of football operations at the club in place?

I can't believe it myself - he'd want complete control, 5m+ salary for min 3yrs, likely similar bonus for promotion, and 50m plus for Jan transfer window on top of what we've promised already for Afobe etc Moyes is far more likely given his past relationship with Scholes (ooer) - he'd want less as his stock has fallen We've not contacted anyone lets be honest - we're still in the monitoring phase We'll end up with Coleman or McCarthy after both Moyes and Big Sam laugh in our faces when told Carto would still control scouting and transfer activity |

I agree, like Southampton with Hughes, one good performance after many poor ones shouldn't sway opinions.... here though, different story. He basically extended his tenure here for a year because he kept getting one win a month. |

Unfortunately Coates ego got seduced by the Well Run club media rubbish and seems stuck in 2012
Sadly for me in my opinion he will move nearer to Coates 1995 before coming into the real world

This time round I think they are being quite considered. I have no evidence for that and I probably am tipping towards the naive end of the spectrum, but I think the silence on the managers future speaks volumes, coupled with his press conferences yesterday, which resembled every inch a dead rubber.
To me it's obvious they are negotiating with his successor to avoid the very public auction that went on last time with QSF to Lambert, which I think they recognise turned into a very embarassing situation for all involved.
I'm of the opinion that once all is done with the new man then there will be a very swift out/in period, probably some time early next week.

When running a business or a country or anything else it’s good to be able to stay calm through ups and downs and make considered non emotional but decisive decisions.
Coates appears to be like that but he isn’t. Every major decision takes an absolute age. Not only appointing the right people in the first place but dispensing with them too when it’s clearly not working out as intended . That includes team managers but also other top executives.
Taking 9 years to add 1,800 seats to the stadium capacity after we were promoted so that it happened just in time for our relegation tells you how ridiculously cautious he is. It’s that caution that sees us in the sorry state we are now. Fortune favours the brave not the meek, and he must have been like that once or he’d have never achieved what he has in life.
