I have always thought that surprise deaths should carry more points. I think the formula should = 100-(age at death). That way the older the the person the less points you score. For example, if the Greek dies you only get 3 points (100-97). Basically the death pool equivalent of a slow hand clap. Matt Baker. Kerching ...59 points Vera Lynn minus 2 points. Which is only fair given that it’s a bit cuntish wishing death on a harmless little old lady.

Keep calm. It's only a car crash. That'll teach him not to sneak out to the shop for a packet of fags whilst the Queen watches the snooker.

That's spooky - someone on the Oatie mentioned Windsor Davies only a few days ago and said he was still going strong.
I really used to like his character in It Ain't Half Hot Mum !
RIP Windsor !

From whence comes the blurb under my avatar. I had him in another game in a music-themed selection. Unfortunately that was 24 years ago ... I didn't win, it was won by my mate who had a double-Harold. Messrs Wilson and Larwood.

Peter Fonda dies age 79 - not sure if anybody had picked him (unlikely I suppose) On his eleventh birthday, he accidentally shot himself in the abdomen and nearly died. He went to Nainital and stayed for a few months for recovery. Years later, he referred to this incident while with John Lennon and George Harrison while taking LSD. He said, "I know what it's like to be dead." This inspired The Beatles' song "She Said She Said". What a tripXx

Love this competition 2017 Joost Van der Weisthuizen - score, Prince Philip, Mikael Gorbachev, Sir Roger Bannister (One year out), George HW Bush (ditto) 2018 Leah Bracknell, Nobby Stiles, Barbara Bush - score, Robert Mugabe, Dame Vera Lynn 2019 Mikael Gorbachev Jimmy Carter Prince Philip Murray Walker Kirk Douglas Am waiving my carry over 1 year out on Leah Bracknell, Rest in Peace www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-50069971Edit - Just realised I was one year out on Mugabe too. So you'd be well advised to pick my 2019 five for 2020

I've just noticed that Hermann Wouk popped his clogs earlier this year - that's a point for me. Mendicant picked Jacques Chirac who died recently.

Still on zero and it's the middle of October, the only person I know who died this year (albeit briefly) was me, couldn't even get that right. Roll on 2020.👍

Am I still within the deadline? If so: Henry Kissinger Stirling Moss Harry Belafonte Little Richard Me ** ** because Mrs Q is an Ipswich Town fan and I can't help saying every 10 minutes "Accrington Stanley, who are they? Exactly". Ok, not me, Murray Walker All still very much alive. Want to live until you're 120? Get Quietman to pick you in a deadpool.
Had an email recently from a mate to let me know I'd managed to knock the first one off my list in the deadpool he was running. The list that I gave him in 1993 ...
