That’s true it’s hammered into them at Uni that Labour are their only option and why they should vote for them and the Tories are basically evil. For young educated people they are pretty stupid Book smart is not the same as being educated , that takes time and experience. Ask llilfraise 😉 I’ve had to bite my lip with my daughter over May/Corbyn recently, starts her PHD this year and she thinks she’s always right and the older generation are, well basically thick and as I voted to leave I’m destroying her future.

There's nothing wrong with voting Labour when you're young.. It shows you have a bit of compassion for your fellow human beings.
As you get older you realise that that compassion might be a bit misplaced.

Is it really an opposition any more? Does it have to be? Both parties are a bit of a joke at the moment. They are that bad that the Liberal Democrats are picking up votes.

Labour has fundamentally changed Now that the " dirty little secret'" is out about the nature of the EU, things can never be the same again. .... even if we wanted to remain ................ According to Skinner= A socialist government would face a tougher fight inside a bloc “dominated by unelected European commissioners,” the Bolsover MP pointed out. “My objections have always been about democracy, never about immigration.” Left leave campaign Lexit convener Alex Gordon warned that the exposé “shows it’s essential for supporters of Labour’s election manifesto For the Many, Not the Few to get off the fence and fight for a Brexit based on jobs and public services and against any attempt to force a second referendum or keep Britain in the single market or customs union. morningstaronline.co.uk/article/eu-opposition-socialism-why-i-voted-against-every-european-treaty-dennis-skinner

An MP has been allowed back into Labour after an investigation into comments he made about the party's handling of anti-Semitism allegations. Chris Williamson, MP for Derby North, was suspended in February after saying Labour had been "too apologetic" in the face of criticism on the issue.
Independent MP Ian Austin, who also quit the party in the same week in protest at Mr Corbyn's leadership, said it was a "complete disgrace" to let Mr Williamson back in with just a warning after he had "caused huge offence to Jewish people".
He added: "This shows the extent to which a party which had such a proud record of fighting racism has been poisoned under Jeremy Corbyn.
"The only question is when decent Labour MPs will finally say enough is enough and do something about it."

PMQ's today, In answering Hammas Loving Paddy Corynski's question about arms sales to Saudi Arabia.
" When the Russians used chemicals in Salisbury Mr Corbyn sided with the russians When the IRA atacked us killing inocent civilians Mr Corbyn sided with The IRA When The Iranians attacked an oil tanker Mr Corbyn sided with The Iranians In fact he sides with all of our enemies. That is why he is unfit to be Prime Minister"
By far her best moment ever, if only she had said that 2 years ago she would have kept her working majority....
I actually cheered that rebuff....Fucking brilliant TM... But way too late...Lets hope Bodger does the same.

Yeah, the thing to take out of that exchange is that 'our' Prime Minister and 'our' Tory Government is going to appeal a recent a court decision so we can sell some more weapons to our Saudi friends to kill more Yemeni children with. Makes you proud doesn't it?

And how many people fighting in them understand the political, economic and social consequences of them?

Not according to concensus on 5Live which suggested that if she'd taken him on at the last General Election she'd have had her majority. The suggestion was that he went for Yemen and arms sales because Labour are in such a mess over Brexit that he couldn't go anywhere near it.
He's a brave principled man to take on the UK arms industry though as I would imagine a lot of that industry is based in Labour areas.
