Imagine a prime time BBC1 impressionist doing Phillip Hammond now and it resonating to 15M people? This is not a party political point at all more about how society has changed and how modern day politicians are pygmies compared to their predecessors. You make a good point. The whole nation knew Dennis Healey, conversely 95% of people today would not recognise Philip Hammond if he stood up in their soup! Nah, the Hamster who regularly does the kamikaze/resurrection thing on Top Gear Telly? We all know him.

Good at Brucie, Denis "silly billy" Healey, Imagine a prime time BBC1 impressionist doing Phillip Hammond now and it resonating to 15M people? This is not a party political point at all more about how society has changed and how modern day politicians are pygmies compared to their predecessors. Precisely the reason why i don't think the new Spitting Image will be anywhere near as successful as the original

OK Now I have to know and I know someone out there will.
Who did the Ian Paisley doing the speech....
There will be a gnashing of teeth
There will be a gnashing of teeth
Old Lady: Rev Paisley, I don’t have any teeth.
TEETH WILL BE PROVIDED
I want to say Dave Allen but, although I have a good memory, it gets shorter every year.
Edit: DO NOT read this post. Scroll down to Salop’s video. He does far better work than me.

His show was all right until the bit at the end when he said " And this is me" then he sang a song badly. That was wank. The rest was pretty good though. I used to like the singing bit the most.

It's his 82nd birthday today. Found some of his stuff hilarious and I used to try to mimic the accents - happy birthday Mike.

I thought he was bloody awful - lousy impressions, couldn't tell jokes and couldn't sing when he was "himself". Yet for some reason he was popular enough to have his own show on TV. He was better than Bernie Winters
