Premier league is now calling for a ban on naughty chants. Anyone singing, shouting etc politically uncorrect words can now be reported on as discriminatory behaviour and be subjected to enforcement.
The "premier league brand" is being damaged.
Goodbye and goodnight, Ill turn the light off and let the middle classes and establishment get on with it.
Just like brexit.
Ill live my own life thank you without this nonsense

No mention of banning anything or anyone other than people being openly racist. If banning racism is something that you object to then close the door on your way out. You won't be missed.

Support for a club should never include excessive aggression or discrimination towards the opposition.
This is the statement from the premier league.
Read into whatever funny bone you have.

Thankfully Im allowed to talk from my arse and from other orifices too on this forum.
You wont find me shouting abuse at the referee and away fans though as the Premier League dislikes it so.
All that swearing and verbal rhetoric its a pollutant dont you know.

If they are bleaching racism and anti semitism from our game then I'm all for it.
No excuse for any of it.
You can passionately get behind your team and get on top of the opposition without putting yourselves into the gutter.

Of course thats the whole point of education and progression of modern life and footy is part of it.
However to have to watch what you say in aspect of vitroile and anger against an opposition in an emotive moment, when consumed with brotherhood is a step to far.
If I cant tell the opposition to do one because I think we are better than them then whats the friggin point.
Racism and prejudice has nothing to do with it.
Bring on the happy clappers. Whatever they are

Bring on the happy clappers. Whatever they are What do you mean - racism has nothing to do with it? It is patently obvious that the statement has been issued in the wake of two high profile racist and anti-semitic incidents in the past week. Racist and anti semitic chanting are already illegal so all the League are effectively saying is don't break the law when you are chanting. Exactly what is your problem with that? I'm sure you'll still manage to chant about the parentage of your favourite referees without getting a ban from the game - but if you end up in court and are banned because you can't stop yourself doing a bit of racist or anti semitic chanting I won't shed any tears for you.

Incremental steps, push push push until eventually, you're in hot water for offending a lino for their decision.
Does anyone remember the cardiff documentary not too long ago?
the cameras they have track your mouth to see what youre saying, then send a text to your mobile to tell you to calm down.
Call me paranoid (or a cunt) but I cover my mouth whenever I talk to my old man about anything with spice on it. The times that I get fucked off and shout at players or officials - well what does the club do with that? Is it really beyond the realms of possibility that aggression wont be clamped down on?
No. It isn't.
Prem clubs make a profit even if they play in empty stadi, It might take a few years but it's coming.

Well support for a club has ALWAYS included excessive aggression or discrimination towards the opposition for many fans, its part of the football fans make up. If folk don't like it go to the ballet!

Yeah maybe. But both our arguments rest on the same premise: - Incremental steps until eventually youre in hot water - It hasn't happened yet and that's proved by time, but may turn out to be true. - Slippery slope argument, one that has been disproven multiple times over the years up to this point in time but could easily turn out to be false.

Racism and jew hating can fuck off yeah, doesn't really need saying. PL saying people can't be racist won't stop it existing but that's a different debate* As for aggression? It's very ambiguous. Does it mean don't lean over your seat to swear at a 5 year old kid? Does it mean don't shout nasty things about local rivals, does it mean don't go and twat people? Because theyre all aggressive acts - some of which there are already laws against, one of which is just a nothing. I think I get where you're coming from, but I deeply distrust anyone/thing that treis to clamp down on what I can/can't say.
