Coming up to Christmas you’d think the club shop will have got more stock of retro shirts and other gift ideas.
Instead there is sweet FA.
It’s not that hard to order in stuff people want to buy, is it?

The club shop has been pathetic since I can remember. You would have thought by now someone would have sorted it out but apparently not. I get the overstocking but it seems every year they understock and have the same issues!

Frustrating but I imagine it's like running a bakery.
If you haven't more or less sold out by lunchtime you're throwing the lot away or giving it to the homeless.

Have the club stopped selling the reproduction retro shirts full stop now?
I noticed a couple of weeks ago on the Club Shop website the retro shirts section had disappeared completely.

Popped up Sunday as wanted to get my kids some tracksuit/training bottoms.. No stock on display whatsoever & was told to order online & order them into the shop! How about just re-stock the shelves?! Looks like they've sold out or ran out of alot of the kids wear.. 2x weeks before Christmas! I'd expect them to be better stocked than they are.. money to be made & all that nevermind making hay while the sun shines at this time of year! They'd got a few Christmas Cards on display but no Stokie Santa hats or Festive jumpers like they've sold on previous December's, Poor.
From the bits they did have I wanted in stock to buy I got told that I couldn't use my season ticket points value towards it as it can't be used against sale items! In a few weeks once the New Year arrives everything will be on sale, how do you ever get to use your points up then?!
It's a joke in most aspects & like others have said, has been for some time now.. The old club photographer/shop manager Paul Bradbury used to have the club shop in good order but that was a good few years ago now.

When there isn't a sale, its not uncommon for shops to not allow extra reductions on sale items.

No one will buy anything after Xmas, so if we don't sell it before then the club shop is stuck with a whole load of festering old tat no one wants at any price. Of course if we make the FA Cup Final all that changes!

Can understand you not being allowed a say 10% money off voucher to be used against a sale item but this points system Stoke use Is a value earnt on your card from previous purchases. Id liken it to going to Tescos with a Clubcard voucher you've earnt and had sent through, you can you use it on any purchase instore including sale items. Stoke points are being earnt at Stoke shop/ticket purchases, don't see an issue with it being used back in club shop regardless of purchase or if in sale.. It's not like Stoke are scrimping and saving and make enough in that place anyway..

I love it when the messageboard gets all exercised about a First World Problem.
No retro shirts in the club shop for Christmas. A crisis up there with hotels with no wi-fi and parties with warm prosecco.

Yes we wouldn't want to sell, possibly, thousands of pounds worth of stock and be left with hundreds of pounds of stock (which will be sold in the sale at the end of the season), best to be like any good business and not sell anything at the busiest time of the year!

Running a club shop, is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman.... You need exciting clothes, Paul, and a welcoming smile. Then, you show them everything you've got. You agree on a price... slip it into the bag... and send them home satisfied.

I visit every year, in fact I’m sitting at a hotel bar in Dallas wearing a nice SCFC polo shirt writing this. Every year it’s the same question “do you have a changing room?” ... “no” ... you sell clothes ffs.

Tbh Everytime I come over, it's like a charity shop picked through and fuck all around. They need to fire the inventory crew and get a new distributor or system half that shit is always out of stock even early or late season several times a week I go by, even online is troublesome. Mind you, the staff are excellent, the email and ordering is easy and the notifications are very good. So for me it's they are too good in some areas and shite in others.

I recently visited the club shop in Hanley. I had a quick look around at the piss poor selection on offer. A black and purple training kit polo caught my eye. I tried to get the attention of one of the shop staff..... Eventually i walked over to one of the Staff and asked if they would be so kind as to reach down a shirt for me to look at. I felt as if i was interrupting a social gathering. After huffing and puffing the shirt was presented to me. I examined the shirt and my wife who has previously worked as a sewing machinist also looked at the shirt. One word came from her mouth. RUBBISH. I totally agreed with her, i returned the shirt to the Staff member and left the shop. I will never ever return to the club shop in Hanley. Poor service Poor goods We are so far behind most other clubs in our selection and quality. I have used the CHAPS company before and found their shirts to be of good quality, a decent price and excellent customer service. Stoke City club shop is being run and managed like a stall on Wass'market.

Of course what they sell is mostly crap. Never mind on the pitch off the pitch there's a lack of ideas or originality. Look at how poor the media set up is. Look what happens when the prospect of a 'fan zone' is mentioned.
The club could really sell some imaginative products and clothes. Instead, that'll be down to other independent people.

As for the 'quality question the bottom line is we should not have fired Adidas.
I know they didn't do bespoke, one off shirts for us, but so what, they had our badge on and there was clear and discernible evidence of tailoring.
The current festering tat is thinner and less well made than a 99p pair of knickers

Haven't bought anything out of the shop for donkeys years. I've asked Santa for a new woolly hat this year though, so I'd better put some Mince Pies out for him on Christmas Eve.
I find it to be very poorly laid out, is far too small for a matchday crowd (the one at the Stadium) and as has been said, stocked with very ropey quality. The odd coat here and there i've found to be quite nice (Parka style coats) and the generic training wear is quite stylish, if poor quality.
I just find it very uninspiring and dull with the most funky piece i've come across recently being a TV remote control cushion, which after the initial smile it raises, is frankly bizarre. I wonder if they've ever sold any?
