Didn't Rowett say in the press conference before last when asked about 2 up front that no one really does it these days, not Man City or anyone else.
They look for the wide players and midfield players to support and chip in with a few goals.
With Ince and Allen both getting on the score sheet against Ipswich then I doubt he has changed his mind.

He'll bring in McClean for Berahino and that will be that.....

For me the issue is not playing 2 up top , Leeds don't play two up top, nor Forest, nor Norwich, nor Derby nor the majority of the teams above us really. Only Sheffield United went with two out and out front men at the weekend.
The difference is the level of support given to the lone striker, out problem is we have no one connecting the midfield to the striker or the wings unless Ince pushes up on the right. Which is an intensity issue, not a formation one IMO.

Then that frees up Clucas to play that role as he did before the red card v Derby. In due course that means leaving one of Adobe/Berahino on the bench. Think we’ll be much better for it though. Back four Allen Woods Etebo Ince Clucas Adobe/Berahino

He is right but they also play about 25 yards higher up the pitch than Rowett has our team , Leeds do it very well in our league but our darlings are a bit too leggy so the Front player is isolated for a lot of the game , the goals on Saturday were great the rest was painful , in terms of results he is getting better ones than the start of the season . Its games like Saturday that will prove if we are making real progress if we can take at least a point from Villa and compete in the game well

It should be a close thing, we have Afobe, McClean and Ince, they have El Ghazi, Abraham and Bolasie. Nah, no worries, I'm sure our Premiershit loanees, Martina and Williams will get the upper hand on their two, Bolasie and Abraham!

Can't see him going 2 up top.
I think he'll more than likely start McClean instead of Bera on the left, and we'll have Adobe Flash Player as the striker.

I've not seen a lot of Bolasie this season, he was awful last, but what I saw against West Brom they should have been 3 or 4 up. Let's hope they are in that sort of form, in front of goal, against us!

This game is a real challenge for us, Villa have hit a streak of good form, but unlike us they are winning matches, not drawing them. In the past month they have been to Derby and Middlesbrough and beaten both 3-0 which is impressive against Middlesbrough, the best defenders in the league. When will Rowett's team score 3 goals in this league?
Well maybe on Saturday. Villa have conceded 32 goals so far this season, more than any other team in the top half of the table. This includes 5 against Forest, who are not an attacking side. The onus is on them as the home side to take the initiative and they will be brimming with confidence, so there is a chance we can hit them on the break. For that to happen our forwards are going to have to be a lot sharper than they have been.
Our results curve so far this season was very flat till the Rotherham game, since when then has been a steady upward climb. That would indicate consistency, but as we all know our performances have been far from consistent. Villa's results curve could not be more different; in technical terms a bathtub curve. A high point to start the season with 2 wins, then low and flat for months with the odd victory, then steep rise over the last 6 games with 4 victories and no defeats. The recent results do not appear sustainable in the light of their performances during September and October, and their conceding 9 goals in the last 4 matches.
In the light of our results away from home, yet another 2-2 would appear to be a predictable score, bearing in mind they may be affected by injuries. But in reality anything is possible varying from us pulling off a surprise victory as Wednesday did, to us taking a bit of a hiding.
I've avoided saying this is a "6 pointer game", but there I've said it now. Win and we overtake them in the table and keep in touch with the play-off places, lose and we will be 5 points behind Villa and could take a significant drop down the table with the 4 teams immediately below us all playing at home.

Win lose or draw this will be better game to watch than the Ipswich game (hard not to be) because Villa are so open. 2.2 is on the cards.

Rowett really needs a string of wins to turn things around and get everyone on side. The draws against some awful teams have worked against him.
This would be a statement win. He and the players desperately need a win at Villa.

It's a huge game for us. Worryingly a non losing streak has to end sometime but maybe everyone will be up for this game and Rowett, the master draw specialist, can get them to hang in under some expected serious pressure. A draw would keep the ball rolling though and with some of the teams above us playing each other it's likely a draw wont see us lose anymore ground. Of course Rowett could really go for it and a win and a good performance could be pivotal for the season. However as others have said he will go with JM trundling up the left side rather than risk something more dynamic.

Butland Martina/Edwards Shawcross/BMI Williams Pieters Ince Allen Woods Clucas Berahino Afobe/Diouf
Need the two lads up top to have the game of their lives! Can imagine so from Saido, but Afobe had better pull something out of his arse. Great game for a hat-trick
