Hi all. A good win yesterday. Well maybe not so good, but a win all the same. Well done to the lads and Gary Rowett. A win with a bit more entertainment would be great, but, you can’t have everything. January is coming up. Do you think there will be any incomings, or, outgoings ? From what Gary Rowett said in his post match interview it sounded, as though Bojan may be on his way. If he is can he take McClean with him please?

HI there u2
Lots to discuss tonight but before we get into another round of bashing "no clue" Rowett and his lazy good for little striker Adope ( thats what we call Afobe here in Bulgaria!) I just wanted to update you on the Stoke City Live + streaming service.
Well after almost 1/2 a season they still cant manage to get a scoreline graphic up on the screen with a clock! No replays!!! It really is pathetic. The quality of the commentary sound is much better now, but the sound engineer (that was one of my jobs many moons ago) just doesnt seem able to balance out the commentary with the ambient sound of the crowd. At the Vale game the crowd drowned out the commentary completely (but it sounded a good atmosphere). They then altered it so you could here the commentary but the crowd was virtually eliminated. Not good! Yesterday the commentary was very quiet again (almost non existent) and that was with what I thought was a very quiet crowd as well.
Please dont get me started about the commentator - I am sure he is doing his best but he really does go well with the boring boring football we are being subjected to. Perhaps its best we cant here him so well! After 90 minutes you are starting to lose the will to live - and thats when we win 2-0!!!!!
When we played Carlisle I paid for the iFollow feed from Carlisle - what a difference!! Good video with score and time! Good audio. You could replay the goals as often as you wanted (or review any bad fouls/great passes etc), there were live match stats to access at the touch of a button and you could also get all the other scores of matches going on that night!!! It made our Live + service look as amateur and cheap as we thought it was.
Sorry for this long post but I really am sick of how Stoke City just seems to try to do everything on the cheap and come over as amateur - or big boys running a hobby!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did write to Stoke City + live and this was there responce:
It is the same company that supplies the feed to us that supplies the iFollow clubs. In order for us to adopt the iFollow platform we would have to move our entire website to the Football League site (perform) which we have just invested in moving away from to offer a more bespoke, unique site rather than the basic platform that the Football League provides. Plus after relegation we wouldn’t have had the time to make the switch to a new web platform even if we had wanted to.
The price of the stream again is directed by the Football League, Clubs can charge more if they wish but baseline cost is set by the Football League.
It is by no means cost cutting for us, or a revenue generator and is something that we will review at the end of the season, should we remain in the Football League (hopefully play offs and promotion back to the Premier League will make it all redundant!).
Our Chief Commercial Officer is fully aware of all of the issues we’ve had and our Head of Facilities is personally liaising with the stream provider to assist them in resolving the issue, we have also pushed back to the Football League. I assure you it is something that we are addressing and not just ignoring, we appreciate all the support we get from those local here at home to those spread around the globe. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well so far the liasing hasnt acheived much has it!!!! (well the epilepsy-inducing flashing screen has gone, I suppose, so credit for that!) Perhaps a word with the Head of Facilities Ange??? (By the way, Lisa, who replied to me several times about Live +, must be the most professional person I've had contact with at Stoke City over the many years!)
As for us, Next season we wont be subscribing to this service - unless it gets up to or near the standards of iFollow. I am sure we can work out an alternative way to see "our" club ;-)
Rant Over!!!! Keep up the good work Best wishes from Steve and Jen In deepest Bulgaria.

Evening you pair, what a dreadful game of football I witnessed at the Bet365 yesterday whilst obviously grateful for the 3 points. No energy in our play whatsoever against probably the worst team to visit our stadium in a very long time imo. How Lambert had the nerve to say they were the better side is beyond me because they wouldn’t have scored if they were still playing now. Anyhow back to us and we need a real top performance if we’re going to get anything at Villa next week. Unbeaten in 8 but judging by the total lack of any atmosphere in the stadium fans are really not enjoying it at the minute(with the exception of the Derby game) and Rowett having a go at us in the main stand after the dreadful Pieters free kick.Looked like the pressure was/is starting to get to our manager judging by his reaction yesterday.

Awful match yesterday, but we are starting our rise to the play offs, people should stop moaning about Rowet. The job is being done, top 6 for January.

Awful spectacle yesterday. 3 points are very welcome but against that rabble yesterday the dog and duck would have had a chance and we still did our best to hand them chances to score!
This season is going nowhere playing like that. We're far, far too poor to realistically threaten anyone above us even if by some miracle we did get into the playoffs. Still 6 points away and with Villa away coming up I expect that to be a bigger gap by the time Millwall arrive.
The run in after Christmas will determine where we finish as we'll need to beat some teams above/around us. Highly unlikely though unless something suddenly clicks.

After Hughes was appointed, we started hoovering up a number of the top youngsters in Europe. As far as I’m aware, none of them made it. Not only is this a waste of the club’s money, but a damned shame for the kids themselves whose careers seem to go backwards when they join us.

I agree with Russ that the quality of the league is surprisingly poor.
That's the most galling thing, we've got a great opportunity to get back out of the league straight away but with this guy in charge and playing so negatively it simply will not happen.

Rowett says Bojan is not on the bench cos he wanted to give younger players a chance (to be on the bench I suppose) Then he puts on Crouch, Fletcher and MacClein!!! What he says then about Bojan is just rubbish. Bojan has got to be an option on the bench to come on to open up a team if we a struggling to penetrate.
Then he has a go at the fans on the Radio Stoke interview by saying they complain about his subs. Not a good manager Rowett, unprofessional in his press conferences slagging off fans, their "favourite players" etc. Players can only become favourites if they show the fans something they want - skill, passion etc (even if they are positionally poor eg Bauer). He doesnt seem to like fans to have favourites - very insecure as a manager. But its ok for him to have a favourite - Incey!!!! I find him childish, insecure and unprofessional in his general, everyday dealings.
I know we wont get rid of him but we live in hope!

I’ve just watched the Newcastle v Wolves game. Both sides are currently struggling for consistency and are looking over their shoulders at the relegation dogfight.
Are we that far adrift of being a Championship (come Premiership) side of the standard of both Newcastle and the Wolves?

Evening folks
After the fayre of yesterday, against the bottom side, we should be putting the poorer teams to the sword surely ?
When we have the likes of Bojan out of the squad no wonder people are venting their views on here and at the game.
The crowd are paying to be entertained So give them something to shout about !!!!

The best thing that Rowett did this weekend was to finaly leave that dam top his water bottle for prhisess conference
He normaly takes an age to unscrew and then refit it while trying to answer Angies questions!!
You must have clocked it Ange

Agree with Ange! :-) None of the Tuesday squad are anywhere near to the first team squad (and nor should they be)! We need to get as many as possible out on loan to league 1 or 2 clubs to "toughen" up! (or dare I say "man up") - young softies who are paid too much so dont have the required motivation to prove themselves in the U23s/U21s
And Ange - where is Bauer - not with U21s/U23s????
Bojan, Bauer and peiters off this Jan!
Scores for Villa - 2-1 and 3-1 to Villa :-(

Surely Rowett bares more similarity towards Pulis than to other managers we’ve had.
On the negative side he singles out players to leave out for strange reasons. For Bojan, see Hoefkens. He also used to make snide comments towards the fans apparent dislike of him, particularly in the early days. He also took a fair amount of time to start getting decent results.
On the positive side, like Pulis, Rowett is very single minded and won’t just kowtow to supporters wishes. Rowett took over a team that leaked goals for fun and has now got them organised and far harder to break down. He also appears to take the attitude that you start with a draw and it’s a bonus if you can sneak the win. How often did you see a Pulis side go for goals once they’d got enough to secure the points as we did yesterday? Other than in the run up to the Cup Final, it very rarely happened.
This team was a mess when Rowett took over. Maybe he should be doing better, but the progress in the last 10 games compared to the first 10 games is marked. The transfer window is massive. Sign the right two players and we could be in for a very good second half of the season.

Good evening guys. Can’t agree with Adam. Yes, the apathy surrounding the club is a culmination of the last three years. But if we got a manager with any bottle, that would go after teams, and would put everything on the line like the Derby match- people would be on board. After all the spending and the promises of having a team to be proud of, people aren’t prepared to stomach a Tony Pulis-lite.
A Derby fan said to me a while back- “Rosetta will justify his position by shoeing off the cannon fodder of the league by sticking 3 or 4 past them. But any time a half decent team comes up, he’ll revert to the drab football we’ve see n to eek out a draw or a 1-0 if he’s lucky.

Bauer arrived yesterday with the rest of the players and was seen at Stoke station at 6pm catching a train with Bojan. Maybe their friendship might explain a lot🤔

The correlation of boring but winning football and tippy tappy losing football is a myth. It is possible for a football team to win a football match by playing football.

That comment about the players going to Dublin for a break explains why McClean arrived with his suitcase in tow. Have they gone out there for a Christmas piss up then?
