Anyone else notice Joe shushing the boothen end with the old finger to the lips after he scored?

Did he really? I saw Eric do it to the Boothen when he put that cross in for our second, but if Joe also did it then it does not bode well for the craic between the fans and the players. I think the players need to draw their horns in a bit and realise that most of the negativity is directed at Rowett's negative style of nogger and not at individual players. Or maybe they like the manager so much that they will take his side against the fans? That's a recipe for disaster if they do.
OS.

Fans on the back of underachieving yet overpaid journeymen shocker.... It's all a bit routine for employees of the club to fall out with the fans isn't it? (Even if the fans are justified in their criticism and have a right to express their opinion to an extent)

I noticed that......not much love there and its not surprising.
It shows how detached our fans are from the team and vice versa. That's the state of football today.
Maybe the first teamers are a bit miffed about the following that some of the fans gave the U-23s at Vale.
The first teamers have yet to experience that level of passion for their performances.

Are you surprised, the support is shit, yes a lot think we're underachieving and thats fair enough but on match day maybe actual encouragement would help. Its seemingly not just us though, it seems the fashion to boo your team off if they aren't 2 or 3 up by half time.

I like Allen (and Erik for that matter) but I'm honestly not sure what the players expect?
We pay good money to watch them and be entertained, they are employed and get paid well to provide that entertainment. It's like any environment, if you don't keep the customers happy, they complain. I can't think of any other time I would put up with being 'shushed' or shouted at for politely voicing my dissatisfaction at a substandard service I'm paying for.
Can you imagine if you complained at Sainsbury's and the chap on the till shushed you? I know football is very different as it's so passionate but these are professional, grown men and plenty of non-footballers put up with a lot worse in their chosen careers. I almost feel like the club are taking the piss out of the fans lately.
If SCFC were TV program we'd have been cancelled by now.

6 shots on goal to their 9. 2 on target to their 2. 'Their' being bottom of the league.
That's right Joe/Erik/Gary Rulis, I don't know what we're moaning at.
I wouldn't mind but the fans have been very patient when you take into account relegation and the reception they received after the Palace game last year.
If they want better support then give us more than 2 shots on target a game.

The football is absolutely dire, as bad as Pulis at his worst. The overpaid tossers should be forced to sit and watch it. Id be happy to put up with a bit of booing for forty grand a week.
Ive never disliked Stoke City players so much.

I saw it, I was sat in the boothen right by where he did it.
Apathy when we were playing shit Apathy when we scored And apathy when Allen (Alan) shushed his own fans
Hopefully we can get back to the prem as the apathy was better then x

Scored against the lowest team in the league have we, Joe? Fucking congratulations.
I take it this us Rowett's lead by example rubbing off on them if they're all starting to take pop shots at fans, even when the grumbling is completely justified? Come and take another couple of months off from being a footballer and watch what we have to endure. See where you stand after that, never mind 3 years of it.

He took the goal well He’s just as frustrated as the fans and the management- just like the players, a positive attitude will help everyone even when things aren’t going our way Yes they are professionals and we are the paying public If it’s so depressing for some fans they may be better off taking a break We were relegated for a reason, not quite good enough, morale and confidence are fragile, we’ve lost some very good players. We’ve lost and are losing some fans The footballs not pretty but we are getting some points The likes of Joe Allen and Erik Pieters are very important for our club right now, they need our support

Oh and a decent holday for scholes and Cartwright

That first half was as bad as anything i have seen in almost 50 years of following the Potters. Shocking. The 2nd half against a virtually already relegated side was only marginaly better. 2-0 at 60 mins is it too much to expect the players to push on and make it a bit of a party for once ?

On a lighter note nellie went to see Fleetwood Mac a few years ago and they were starting with the long intro to Tusk when all of a sudden Stevie and Lyndsey stopped and Stevie went ballistic. Apparently two guys were fighting at the front and she just kept saying 'How Dare you at my concert' over and over again so if works both ways, but it was very funny nellie 😂😂

6 shots on goal to their 9. 2 on target to their 2. 'Their' being bottom of the league. I saw that stats as well. Kind of shocking really. We couldn't have played well. I followed the game on Sign2. I just noticed, the expression "on goal" in English doesn't mean what I thought. As a swede I would have said "on goal" and "off goal", if it didn't hit. But your corresponding terms are "on target" and "on goal" respectively.

I too noticed it. I can only assume that he was doing it to hush the boos that immediately proceeded it, the boos were for Pieters when he played it back to Butland instead of going forward, to be honest the constantly going back instead of getting forward is frustrating
It was ironic though as the crowd were very quiet due to lack of action, other than the 2 goals there was a snapshot from Berahino and that was it

This has happened a few times this season, players gesturing to the supporters... have never seen it as much as this...also sly digs from the manager in post match interviews... yesterday’s was ‘ no matter what substitute I make I get criticised, so I may as well not make one’...
Disconnect between players and fans at an all time high, not what is needed for a promotion push !
We have some idiot fans, but they pay their money and they can express their frustrations at the games, players and manager need to be a bit more bloody professional, show some more effort and desire ( or at least more than 2 shots on targets against bottom of the league) and the crowd will get behind them.

Generally speaking fans are pathetically precious about this sort of thing.
The telling thing with this though was that they raised the tempo almost in reaction to the crowd’s displeasure at sitting back and defending a slender one goal lead.
That might yet do for Rowett.

I watched it on Ipswich’s iFollow with their local Radio Suffolk commentary and they picked up on the negativity from the crowd quite early on as their chance of getting something.
There are people at the ground that moan at any backwards passing, it seems to be a uniquely Stoke thing, and it gets louder and louder the more it happens. So when we’re facing 11 men (that we’re expected to beat 10-0) all behind the ball in their own half, tight, compact, well-organised and we’re not constantly passing forwards it’s a turgid atmosphere that matches the game.
Woods played a backwards pass in the first half, the Stoke fans sounded like a Wimbledon tennis crowd when Murray misses an easy shot after a 73 hit rally, the Ipswich commentary were bemused and Ipswich had a big lift.
