His interview after the match was very downbeat. I suspect he knew what was coming.

Great coach/no.2, not a manager.

Just shows how lucky Gary R is to still be in a job given the resources and relative expectation of everyone except the Board

Great coach/no.2, not a manager. Can't be any doubt about that now. Can see him in the England set up.

That got me thinking; Where did Steve Coppell go? A great manager in his day that did a lot at Crystal Palace with very little.

Just shows how lucky Gary R is to still be in a job given the resources and relative expectation of everyone except the Board I agree. Lost just once in his last 5 matches and that was just 0-1 to title contenders Leeds. Reading have scored more goals than Stoke and had just 2 fewer wins. The only poor result of late is not beating Ipswich at home, but they did come back from being behind twice to get a 2-2 draw. They also came back against us to get a draw. That I would argue is far better performance than us losing the lead like we did against them, QPR, and Sheffield Utd. I assume he has been sacked more because of poor performances than results therefore. They were dire against us.

I was asked by a mate the other day who Hughes is gonna ruin next and I suggested Reading. Nothing to base this on, just a team that popped into my head when asked.
