Whatever you have make sure you like it. I can vouch for laser treatment and 12 months of a blistered arm isn’t fun

My old Dad was in the Navy for about 15 years in the 60s and early 70s, and he's covered in them, even has a pack of dogs chasing a rabbit across his arse. He was mostly very drunk and in foreign ports when he had them done, but his description of the pain afterwards put me off for life.

Both arms and one on the chest. All done in the 1960s. Are they in black and white? I didn't even have arms then. They nearly are now, colours have faded after all these years.

A Stoke Badge on my leg and the verse "Ezekiel 25:17" from the film Pulp Fiction on my back.

Pretty much life inspired things, and all very different. Example being one of each arm off the film/book Watership Down, one representing life & death. Running Club crest & colours on leg...

I have a sudden mild desire to get a tattoo. It would be a small one maybe on my forearm. However, I can't think of anything that I want inked on me, and I don't want something trivial, random, or cliched. So no hearts or flowers or anything like that. (I'm female.) How did you decide what tattoo to get? I had a stupid DIY one done when I was 15 - Then got it done over when I was 17, nothing but regret. My advice, Think on it for a year - get someone good to do it. Don't be cheap! It's there for good.

For those with tattoos, have you ever had skin problems from the ink? I have very sensitive skin and get hives from a lot of things that touch my skin, so I'm afraid the ink will cause an allergic reaction.

I do. I got an owl on my forearm to mark my first year sober. For me it represents the last line of the Serenity Prayer '...and the wisdom to know the difference'.
I thankfully didn't have any problems with it healing, so I would definitely recommend you take proper care of it while it's healing so it stays nice. The extra effort is definitely worth it.
