Attended last night and I appreciate that there are lots of threads on what happened.
The match was an all ticket affair therefore both clubs and the Police knew the attendance of both sets of fans. The Railway paddock as I know had about 20% capacity not used.
Would it have been better for the authorities to leave the empty capacity towards the Hamil End rather than the Bycars End? I get that the Police box is in the corner but they don't rely on good eyesight alone.

Think it's the main entrance into the Railway lower. There's turnstiles behind the stand but think they're for the Railway 'upper'.
All what would have been needed is to put the Vale fans in the Bycars opposite the away end and hardly anything would have happened last night.

According to the Sentinel
“Police have confirmed Vale fans removed netting placed in the Railway Paddock in an effort to keep the two sets of supporters as far apart as possible - allowing Vale supporters to sit in the corner of the ground closest to the away end”

First thing vale fans did was to remove the segregation for what it was worth surely a line of plod or stewards would of been better.

According to the Sentinel “Police have confirmed Vale fans removed netting placed in the Railway Paddock in an effort to keep the two sets of supporters as far apart as possible - allowing Vale supporters to sit in the corner of the ground closest to the away end” They just ran at the netting and got to the corner. It was as much use a chocolate fire guard. A row of plod would have been a better option, or as mentioned move them to the bycars end.

A row of soap and other personal hygiene products would have kept the filthy scum bags away.

A row of soap and other personal hygiene products would have kept the filthy scum bags away. All these Fail fans moaning over a few broken toilets, I'm surprised they're even aware of what ceramic bathroom furniture is used for.

that corner section of vale fans got away with murder all night, and before someone says it, no im not overlooking our morons actions,.... im just making the point, the same bald guy in a black coat climbed over the boards and onto the track with his gesticulating 3times, the police and stewards did nothing to try and move there meatheads back away from the corner, and diluting the flashpoint..... either burslem police are lot more laid back than we have at the bet 365...... or they were clueless.nobody who went last night is playing down the ations of some of our supporters, but lets not make out the vale fans were auditioning for pope ( no pun intended )... they were just as mindless, i saw the same amount of missiles and flares from the railway paddock. ...... as len goodman used to say, it takes 2 to tango

When I got in the ground last night I couldn't believe the Police allowed the Railway Stand to be occupied at all, let alone stand back and watch them rip the netting away. It should have been 20 yards of netting, then a line of Police. They should have been in one end, and us in the other. Selling ale in the Stoke end last night also added fuel to the fire - utter madness.

Defending fans who cant go to a football game and drink without causing trouble is stupid. Not winning games we should be use to that. Popes goal was pretty good by the way the rest Rubbish from us.

Also their lot removing the netting too which provoked a response. The police did well but not brilliant, they never filmed Vale fans and in my opinion should have stopped them moving the netting for segregation as soon as it was attempted.

Poor management from Vale having unallocated seating and not stopping them from ripping up the netting to get closer to our fans but still no excuse for some of the behaviour on show.
The ridiculous antics aside, it was a good atmosphere.

The segregation was fucking nuts when you consider there were fewer than 8000 people in a ground that holds 19000

Clutching at straws to try and blame segregation. In hindsight maybe they should have been in the opposite end to us or in the top half of the railway stand instead. But its a problem that won't go away if they come up against another large following with like minded idiots.

I’m not blaming the lack of segregation as a reason for anything. I am saying with smarter segregation it would have reduced the volume of items being thrown at each each

Them pair are loving this- more views on internet of the paper and more sales in the area. They need to give more balanced reporting

How can people condone the behaviour of the minority of stoke supporters that were responsible for causing the trouble.
The fact is that we have a small number of knucledragging w@nkstains that went to the game fullying intending to cause trouble.
Let's just hope that they are all identified and never allowed to watch another live stoke game until they have matured enough to apologies and also paid for the damage they've caused...

I don’t condone any of it, mindless stupidity is what it is, what I’m saying is both sets of supporters did certain things and obviously stoke smashing up their facilities is a lot worse than ripping out temporary segregation, there’s been no mention of anything of Vale fans in the media when they clearly have a section of support who love this brain dead activity.
