Almost like they'd seen it wasn't working, thought they'd give the new man time to work with squad and see strengths and weaknesses ahead of January transfer window and then agreed with their target that he was coming then got rid.
Are they fucking stupid?
Everyone knows the correct approach is to ignore the problem by hiding behind the curtain of stability, go to the media and tell supporters they don't have a clue, then knee jerk the sacking, approach your target, put a cute clause in his contact, lose him then approach the target you fucked off as you were certain you'd get target 1, then act surprised when he turns you down, then realise time's ticking on and appoint the next British manager on the pile of applications you can find.

This.
Well said.
We can moan and groan about GR all we like (& I do) but we have to also acknowledge that whichever manager we have might be at least partly a symptom, and not the cause itself, of our lethargy and many mis-steps so far this season.
That said, Southampton also show that, despite some quite horrendous appointments dating right back to MP's exit, they have really shaken up the staus quo and are at least trying something different.
Obvious caveat, it remains to be seen how he actually does - but I can't see a huge faceplant personally.
An example our board could all take note of.
And the caveat to that, of course, is that turkeys don't usually vote for Christmas.

You can't help but feel annoyed when you see other clubs doing things in the right way!!!
Not saying going foreign is necessarily better....but I'm fed up of Coates old "tried and tested" British managers!!!
You just know that if we did get rid of Rowett, it'd be mid-way through January, so the next manager wouldn't have much time to bring in new players..... And chances are, it'd be Martin O'Neil!!!

What happens if he fails? Then it fails, but far better than picking a manager with a proven track record of failure.

But they've acted quicker than we did last season when it started to go wrong.... Plus they haven't just limited themselves to British managers!!!

In Seinfeld they surmise the reason salsa is the most popular condiment in the world is because people like saying the word 'salsa'. Hasenhรผttl will gets lots of media attention for similar reasons.

We deserve to be where we are after shambolic appointments and cowboys running the club. Board Out We need the dream team - Ashley, Oyston and that bloke ripping off the disabled with his mobility scooter scam. Complaining about the current owners is getting boring. We need fresh faces to complain about.

Its made Coates (for all that he has done for this club) look like a bigger fool, i bet hes hating reading this sports related news. Now that Saints have removed the tick that is Hughes, i can start to wish them well again. I actually like the club, they've not done the massive spending thing like west ham (fucking scum club), and have repeatedly been pillaged by other clubs (liverpool). This bloke they've appointed sounds like the new mourinho (successful one, not the mental one).

Just watched Southampton v ManC. They were well beaten in the end but as against Arsenal they were tremendously fired up and had their youngest team for over 5 years.
