I really feel for all the guys who fought for removal of the ID cards.
The few once again spoil it for the majority, bring the club, our City and the law abiding residents of our City into the public gaze for the wrong reasons.

We have gone back to the old days in all respects useless on the pitch & morons in the stands. It just goes to show how fast a club can fall from a lofty position in a very short space of time to being just a has been very sad.

As disappointing as last night was, how many games involving Stoke have seen that much disorder since the ID cards were scrapped?

I think the OP is going overboard.
I think above anything it shows that even for games like this it shouldn't be a free for all in terms of who can buy tickets, if for example it was reserved seating last night it would be easy to trace the perpetrators on CCTV, or at least collar the people who bought tickets on their behalf.
Last night was embarrassing from a number of our "fans" which is a real shame as the atmosphere sounded great.....

ID cards I do not believe will come back. A police investigation will take place using all cctv, body cameras etc and along with help from the public to ID arrest and prosecute those who put Stoke-on-Trent back on the agenda nationwide as a place not to visit or live. Fans of Prem teams or football in general will be glad we are now longer in the most watched football league in the world. Thanks to those who must have such boring lives they need to take part in incidents such as last night!

I can almost guarantee this kind of trouble wont happen for a long time.
Knobheads attend every match, this was different because the 'stewarding' / 'policing' was a total shambles. They let full capacity in the away end unreserved! If there was any organisation (like at every other normal game up and down the country, where fans are removed from stairways, told to sit down and healthy and safety procedures are adhered to) then i'd suggest alot of last nights mither in the away end would have been avoided.
The police chose to simply stand between Vale & Stoke and they left the fans to there own devices, unfortunately, after alcohol and groups of lads get together, banter spills over and what happened, happened.
What happened was a total disgrace, people smashing up toilets and what not, shocking. But given proper policing, it simply would not have had chance to have happened, and if it did, then the police could have simply removed the main culprits.
Has it happened at any away day in the past 10-15-20 years?????? No!

A group of pissed up idiots smashing up a toilet block won’t effect people coming to/ investing in/ moving to stoke on Trent. People are getting stabbed on a daily basis in cities all over the country. Doesn’t effect there popularity. People need to take a step back & chill out

Talk about an overreaction An overreaction??? Ripping out seats to throw onto the pitch Throwing bottles, yes I know they were plastic, onto the pitch Smashing up the Gents showering glass into the area Stoke fans were waiting Yet more inane sectarian chanting A disgrace from a largish selection of older knuckle draggers and half wit teenagers who have just dragged our clubs name through the mud and seriously marred what should have been a good night out.

It would have prevented a lot of the issues in the ground and allowed the police to man the away end properly to prevent or restrict the vandalism. One thing I did notice last night was how few people I recognised from the usual away games, maybe half a dozen at best.

Easy solution to last night. The vale fans shouldn't have been anywhere near us. They had a whole stand behind the goal empty. We shouldn't have been able to reach them with objects.
Big vale fuck up in organising.

People need to take a step back & chill out I think it is a bit niave to think national publicity of the violent people this city has, does not effect those watching who have the power to direct investment. I often meet and work with people who either have this power or work for them, to say last night would not influence a decision to invest in one area than another is incorrect.

Talk about an overreaction Overreaction??? If aimed at me; 1. I'm not asking for the return of the ID cards. 2. If you believe the behaviour of some last night is OK, fair enough. Personally I don't 3. If you believe such behaviour doesn't tarnish the name of the Club, Its supporters or The City itself. OK, fair enough. Personally I do 4. If you believe the local Police at away grounds won't (or don't) consider the supporters reputation and Police it differently. OK, fair enough. Personally I do Hope the above clarifies my stance

If this match would of been at the bet 365 same thing would of happened just like it did in 2001 they smashed up our toilets etc more to do with society in general than anything i think.on another note why didn't plod let the stoke out first? They could of dispersed then then let cale out at least they wouldn't of smashed their own shithole up!! Would they? No excuses though shocking behaviour 😢
