Yes I went to the Southport away game on the run to winning the league cup. Won 2 1 from memory....traffic appalling getting there and the only other thing I remember was you could walk to the end stoke were attacking each half! Anybody else any memories of that game lol π Was at Southport that night ... as Banks my hero ...hence the decent gate as locals had turned up to see him....Farmer played in goal π I was 15 and the only other memory was the burger van in the corner lol π

I see also in 1978 we played Tilbury, winning 4-0. Pretty rare fixture. Then lost to Blyth F **KIN Spartans

I went to the Tilbury game but had to listen to Blyth on radio Stoke as it was a school night. Shocking.., I think we will get a midlands team from the championship away. Iβm calling Brum or Derby.

Morecambe, Fleetwood, Accrington Stanley, Yeovil, Barnet, burton albion, Carlisle? I don't recall us playing a competitive game at any of these grounds in my lifetime. Carisle in the League in the eighties, and very early seventies. Morecambe in the Checkatrade but not first team. None of the others (Barnet at home but not away. Yeah any of them away please. Before my time mate and morecambe and Carlisle in checkatrade aren't games I would have gone to out of principle.

The way the season is developing I don't see us having many games where there will be anything really to play for. I am probably being over confident of our ability to avoid a relegation battle. With that said I'd go for Arsenal at home: it may be the only chance of a decent "bearpit" atmosphere for some time. Have you ever thought you might be happy 'supporting' another club? No

Accrington Stanley Barnet Southport (if they get through) Guiseley or Fleetwood Working Solihull Moors (if they get through) Newport County (if they get through)
Any of these away will do.....

I'm expecting my bubble to be burst fairly quickly this season! Will we win it before I pop my clogs? No chance methinks!

I want us to get someone really shit who we can beat easy. However, I'm beginning to think such a team doesn't exist.

I am hoping for an easy draw, any win will lift the spirits. A win will also prolong some interest in the season which is quite likely to be done and dusted by the end of January.

I have it on good authority that it's Newcastle United at home.
Weird being an upsetter rather than an upsettee for the first time in 10 years.

C'mon, number 45 for us - away! Although that invokes the law of sod which states that Guiesley won't beat Fleetwood later.
