I’ve been thinking about getting a VR headset for the family Christmas present. (well, for my Christmas present really, but they can have a go on it)
Does anyone have one, or have they used one? I’ve tried a Google Cardboard one and was pretty impressed with what it could do as just a piece of cardboard holding an iPhone, but there were only a few demo apps available and although they were pretty impressive, you couldnt 'do' anything with them. I Would expect a proper VR headset to be in a different league to that.
But, if you’ve got one, what do you do with it?
I know gamers seem to like them, but me & the mrs are not really in to games – been there, done that & got the bad back to prove it (if you know what I mean).
I’ve seen that there is a firm which promotes VR music concerts (Melody VR) so that you can be ‘in the crowd at a live concert’ but still sitting in your living room. I can’t see that it can be a patch on actually being there but, since I’ve never heard of any of the performers on their web site, I’m sure I wouldn’t be there anyway.
Apart from that, what do you do with them?
I’ve noticed the BBC tried to broadcast some VR during the World Cup. Did anyone see it? Was it any good?
Help….. Is it worth spending a few £100 on a VR headset, or would it be a waste of money?

You really need to have a look at all the apps available for it to know if there's things you want. For £200 there's worse things you can spend your money on

Ask Mark Hughes for his advice,he 'clearly' used one to watch most of our games last season, definitely was in a parallel reality to me at least....

Just bought one of these haha, £150 on Amazon. Used my girlfriend's dad's Oculus Quest and loved it, figured I'd try the cheaper version and then might upgrade.

Got banned from a VR Church for making pew pew noises and yelling "there's a bomb". Found a girl that's apparently been making cat noises every time she appears for months in the social space.
