When you think about it, it's absolutely ridiculous from a River Plate point of view. They were in a fantastic position to win the trophy after the first leg. Now their "home" leg isn't even going to be in the country. They've really been fucked over by some of their own fans. Perhaps those morons should have stopped to think about that. Hopefully the real River fans will now turn their back on their mafia following and stop buying tickets from them etc....though I wouldn't hold my breath. They have been lucky not to be expelled, though Boca are threatening to go to Court to demand this still. The decision to move it out of Argentina is because of the G8 Summit starts on Thursday and will take up all policing resources. Boca were disqualified in similar circumstances a few years back, when their fans attacked River players. Whilst this was during an earlier round and not the actual final, you can't help but think they have a point.

Wasn't the final.. it was a bit different tbh, in that it happened inside the stadium rather than just in the streets outside

Wasn't the final.. it was a bit different tbh, in that it happened inside the stadium rather than just in the streets outside I wonder if this means that both River and Boca fans will be attending the game on neutral territory? I guess it depends where it is held and how many fans will be able to afford to attend. Interesting scenario though.

If it's anywhere in South America enough of them will find a way. They're probably setting off now.

Imagine the circus around Messi if it was at the Nou Camp.
They need to decide soon because of finding out who loses to Real Madrid in the final of the daft world club cup.

Go River! 😛 Want a good match. Pity it can't be neutral in Argie land.

Such a shame it’s being played away from the majority of both clubs fans.
Taking the atmosphere away it’ll be just another mundane game with little quality. Although looking on twitter a decent amount have fans have travelled.
