7-2 6-1 Same difference. Mark Bowen's facial expressions are a treat, each time Citeh scored.

He's clearly learned from last season and done a Rowett and tightened the defence but sacrificing the goal threat...
Got a feeling Citeh will score 10 at some point this season.

I thought Hughes was very good for most of his time here, absolutely loved some of the football played. He turned to shit and we were in a mess when he left but it was still a salvageable situation. He’s gone now so I don’t really give a shit (and I certainly wouldn’t give up 90 mins of my free time watching Southampton just hoping they’d be beaten) but I do think he gets a disproportionate amount of opprobrium on here

Just been on the Saints forum for their post match reaction - not happy bunnies !
This comment on there sounds rather familiar to us last year
"Hughes has to go but the problems at the club go far deeper than the manager."

At least the blokes consistent! Sure his pal & main backer Lily Savage will still be backing him to the hilt! It'll be someone else's fault & down to poor recruitment & selling all its assets surely well ahead of Hughes management skills!

I was rather hoping they would get eight, but I'll settle for that. Do it again next week Citeh. Pretty please with sugar on!

Surely the powers that be at Soton will learn from Stoke's experience and let him go before it gets too late. And where will he go then?

Interesting to see that every club that gets promoted and is held up for a while as the ‘benchmark’ for future promoted clubs, will always at some point go to shit and drop back down again.
Fulham, Bolton, Swansea, Us, Southampton, Burnley... at some point it’ll happen to Bournemouth and Leicester.

At the risk of sounding like a member of the tin foil brigade:
Tony Pulis- reaches the Cup Final in 2011 playing an exciting (by his standards) brand of attacking football in league and cup. Qualified for Europe, outplayed some big Premier clubs and expectations increase among the support. TP then has a footballing breakdown, tears his team apart and shoves square pegs into round holes.
Mark Hughes- reaches the League Cup semi in 2016 playing an exciting brand of football that sees top Premier clubs outplayed. Expectations increase among supporters. He then has a footballing meltdown and shoe-horns players into a system that doesn't suit them.
Coincidence- or was the concern over 'increased expectations' originating from higher up the ladder?

He will be gone, I’d say he’s got 2 games max to turn it around, Southampton won’t dither like our board
As for Hughes, I’d be surprised to see him managing again in the premier league, and he may not manage again at all. There are far better out of work managers out there such as Moyes so I think he’d be down the pecking order
