Jack saved him today, Bristol had half a dozen good chances and a couple sitters in the last 25 minutes. It's a miracle we won. People wanna give him credit for dropping McClean, but he's the one that signed and had him out there in the first place. He has also Fletcher out there. I don't care if he scored, he's utter dross. Our attack never felt threatening either.

Just one word, in big shouty caps: STRENGTH. We were just inspirationally strong as a unit. Gary had a plan, everything connected, it worked - including quality last-ditch defending I haven't seen from a Stoke side for far too long. Take a big bow Jack, take a big bow Gary too. It's my first Rowett 10 * if you were there please That's a very strange assessment. We were very fortunate at times. I dare say his plan would quickly fall on it's arse if we had conceded. I call it like I see it, only my opinion... but honestly I'm not expecting quality this season, I'm rating largely on character so when Gary's got us capable of toughing a game like Brizzle out that gets a max from me. If you think how easy we've been to blow over that does seem fair enough. Lack of conviction's the biggest fault he's had to fix, once that job's done we can start to built the prettier bits.

8* looked like we had a plan, players knew their jobs and did them well. Charlie drove us on with some enthusiasm and Butland did what he does best. Good game and well supported

An 8 for me. We went away, kept a clean sheet and won. Bristol were the better team for most of the game, so it's the ideal smash and grab really.
