I beat both Everton and Man City in the Cups and just going into the friendlies for the Prem season now. I seem to have a worse squad though as I’m too stingy with new signings’ wage demands and agent fees. I think I need to get with the times! Keep telling them you can’t afford if existing players ask for new contracts I’m 6 seasons in on 2018 version and nearly all my team want £150k a week 🤮 I’ve been promoted. Richer than Man Citeh in the world finance list. Ive let Crouch, Affelly, Mclean and Diouf leave amongst others and signed Ward-Prowse - and im over my wage budget!

FM actually has some good stuff in the background that agents will react to in regards to wages. There's no designation as such, but you can become a tough negotiator if you're willing to miss out on a few deals here and there (sometimes waiting until the next window etc) and really driving players contracts down. If you become a soft touch and give in the other way a lot, you'll find everyone wants new contracts quite regularly and they want bigger and bigger pay-rises.
It can be tricky to keep a firm handle on.

This would be hilarious if it want so close to the truth on a previous 18 save with Stoke I tasked Cartwright with signing a young Mexican player but never set a wage limit he got the player for 5mil which I thought nice one then I checked the contract and we were paying him £250k a week 🤦♂️ With massive pay increases over five years! That to me makes it ultra realistic lol

Started a brand new save of Stoke on my new laptop at work....
Currently 1st in the league, 7 points ahead of Brentford with 64 points. I brought Mame Diouf in from the cold he has 9 goals and 1 assist from the right wing, put Charlie Adam back in the team and he has 5 goals and 7 assists. Had an offer from Dynamo of 5.75m for McClean so he's gone. Sold Adam Federici for 1.3m to Southampton.
Striking options are dire for me, Bojan is the one with the most goals with 3 goals. Ryan Woods has 7 goals 4 assists, Etebo 5 goals 4 assists.
Tom Ince 4 goals 11 assists.
I play the "Vertical Tiki Taka" tactic 4-1-4-1.
