James are a cracking band. Can't stand (sorry unintentional pun) that Sit Down song though.

James are a cracking band. Can't stand (sorry unintentional pun) that Sit Down song though. They often don't play it. They make a point of sometimes not playing their hits at shows and making the most of their extensive back catalogue, which is both infuriating and honourable at the same time.

This'll be a corker too.
They were fooking immense last time they played The Mill a couple of years back.

I notice it's a support by A James Acoustic set. I imagine there'll be a 'Sit Down' moment in that. It'll be beautiful in the Vic, if it's not an all seater event. If you know what I mean.

The Coral confirmed for Sugarmill in March. Nice. Wow. That's a great booking. Yeah. Saw them there 2000 or so, first ep. This should be bouncing. Sleaford Mods sold out already, first day on sale. Good for the 'Mill, future planning etc. Good for Hanley. Let's get LCD SS at Viccy Hall {or summat}.

Saw them at a festival in Scotland in August but we as preoccupied with the kids and a Ferris Wheel to take proper notice tbh. Might go Warrington to see them the week after.

Mob handed for this one mate. Conner wait. Owte in support are interesting too. I put Bilgepump on at the Talbot in Stoke a couple of times. Rather marvellous. Saw them in Hanley {under the Exchange} a couple of years back. Mint. See you there.

Didn't realise UB40 are doing Viccy Hall. A bit disappointed to see 'peoples' band' named after the Dole card, one for the common class are charging in excess of forty quid for this gig. Nah.
Kyoto Drummers of Japan for less than a tenner for me instead. And maybe even an organ recital or summat.

I see Souer are on at The Sugarmill on 8th March. I know nothing about them but my mate who is a 54 yr old punk rock fan thinks they are one of the best bands he saw last year. He lives in London and is retired so he gets to see lots of bands. Have a listen and if you are intrigued buy a ticket. They are only 6 quid.

For anyone who like me, appreciates a bit of Americana; on March 9th, Stoke ST holder Peter Morgan of Fish Records is hosting Angel Snow in the upstairs room at The Royal Oak in Eccleshall. Quality music in an intimate little venue.. what's not to like.

www.facebook.com/events/308416506695061/Your City multi-venue festival is back on 25-26 May. Did this last year, saw some great bands and some less-inspired ones. It's cheap, interesting and allows one to become a Patron of the Arts.

Went to see " Brassed off" at the Nee Vic last week. Excellent, Im sure that many on here would like it. A mixture of working class humour and hardship, excellent brass band as well.... based on the story of Grimesthorpe colliery band against the backdrop of pit closures and struggle. www.newvictheatre.org.uk/
