Cambridge United away in the league cup in 92 was even worse than Blackpool. Piss wet through and a 3 hour drive home. I was in the front row of the stand with the home fans that night, even they were sympathetic to the bedraggled away following. Going back to the car was not as bad as last night, however.

I'd say last night is the wettest I've ever been. Ever. Blackpool away in the nineties takes some beating for me That the rooster game? Was in posh seats for that game, pissing mesen watching stokies with umbrella's running across pitch to get to covered stand 😂

I'd say last night is the wettest I've ever been. Ever. no way ,blackpool away years ago ,it didn't rain it was just a giant wave came crashing over blackpool lol ,bought a giant brolly,it lasted 5 min then it got blown into the paddock ,kept seeing it popping up all over the ground ,even had to ring my socks out when i got back the car 92/93 3-1 win? brace for Rooster i think. We had half of the open end and part of the covered paddock and when it started coming down nearly everyone in the open end ran across the corner of the pitch to the paddock. I have a very vivid memory of making it to a by then very crowded paddock, wet as an otters pocket, and looking up to realise i could barely see the pitch because there was steam coming of all the soaking wet stokies who'd legged it across.

Piss wet through doesn't begin to describe how me and my lad ended up by the time we'd walked back to the car on Screwfix last night. However, I can now confirm that Barbour Tiree Breathable Waterproof Jackets are, in fact, waterproof. Unfortunately the same can't be said for Jasper Conran jeans, Clarks Suede Wallabee Boots nor Sainsburys mens, size 8-10, socks or Sainsburys cotton boxers. I've also established that the remote keys on Alfa Romeos still work even when they get soaking wet. Thank you. Gooaarrnn You Rip Roaring Potters!

Yes AWB suede boots were a mistake last night. Mine are hanging from the washing line trying to dry out!

Had my Duck -Hunting boots on and still wet socks.Mind you we walk from the ground along the canal to Stoke after every game. Might as well have jumped in.(would have done if we had lost.)

There had been a severe weather warning issued by the Met Office which covered our area.
You could always try:-
Sprayway waterproof with hood Rohan "Drybags" Rohan boots
You will look a bit of a dick, but I can guarantee that not half a drop of water will get through that lot.

I think I'm right in saying we went top after that 3-1 win at Blackpool, which was in November, and didn't lose top spot for the rest of the season. Great days.

What a fantastic decision that turned out to be You didn’t read my Oatcake weather forecast then😂😂 just about dried out now You were forecasting high winds man not rain. So consequently that 25lbs of lead I strapped to my undercrackers to stop me blowing away just meant I couldn't run to get out of the rain.

I did catch the forecast for heavy rain showers which seemed to coincide with the walk back to the car.
But I wasn't expecting anything like that. I'm just grateful we won to take the edge off.
You don't often get rain like that in this country - absolutely ridiculous scenes! My trousers were stuck to my legs, and I literally had to empty my shoes like they do in cartoons.

It only takes 90 seconds to get from the B28 exit, up the hill and onto the bus. Absolutely fucking drenched.
It's a shame the Vale weren't at home last night, it'd have counted towards their six washes a year.

I drove back to Chester wearing no shoes, no socks and, er, no trousers I drove back to Leicester in my pants...forgetting that the drive is lit up like Wembley as soon as the car gets near Still, the neighbours should be in bed by midnight, so anything they saw that offended them...tough! Sure was wet

I'd say last night is the wettest I've ever been. Ever. Can't remember the year but away to Huddersfield at the old ground (Leeds Road?). Big open end infront of the scoreboard. It was pissing down so took an umbrella which got confiscated at the entry gate so stood in the constant torrential rain with permanantly steamed up glasses hardly seeing a thing - god knows what the score was
