After a good nights sleep I still can’t believe the useless tossers went off air at 10pm.I’ve come to the conclusion that whoever’s running the station is just either not interested or just plain lazy🤔 They can't do much about the fact that the BBC cut most of the budget for local radio stations and decided to network 5 Live through the night from 10pm. But hey, let's not let the facts get in the way of another moan. Absolute rubbish when other BBC local radio stations manage to stay on air.Radio WM and Radio Derby just two examples so don’t give me that.

But hey, let's not let the facts get in the way of another moan. Radio 5 Live only comes on from 1am. From 10pm-1am, there is a shared Midlands service, as there has been for many, many years. If we used to broadcast until 10:30, as we did, I fail to see what has changed this season other than possible further cutbacks? The club's manager interview is available on Facebook and YouTube by the time I've got home or just after anyway, so not much lost except several hundred listeners to Radio Stoke I guess. Sadly the station is rendering itself more irrelevant by disappearing at 10pm - I just go over to 5 Live to get other results and stuff until 10:30.

So you lot aren't fans of the soothing sounds of Late Night Graham Torrington? There really is no pleasing some people! I despair, I really do.

It's very strange and worth a thread of its own. I always associate 8pm KO's with London clubs where people struggle to get there by train after work but that's not an issue for us where there is no great metropolis and the ground is stuck on some derelict wasteland in the middle of nowhere. Said exactly the same, Gods. In fact there must be an argument for the kick off time to be brought forward to 7pm rather than 8? Why not 5 so that the kids who never turn up on a Saturday can be back for bedtime? I prefer night matches as I can call the officials the fucking cunts that they are rather than the clowns that they are when I've got my 10 year old with me.

Isn't the 8pm kick-off Rowett's choice? Or was that a preference for the day? Although I thought that was Wednesday's and we've just played on a Tuesday? Perhaps Sky trump a manager's wishes though? Fuck me, I'm having a conversation with myself. I very much doubt the coach dictates the KO times. We've kicked off night matches at 8pm for several seasons now haven't we? Most of them games the players didn’t kick off till 8.30

As discussed earlier, the 8 o clock kick off time was brought in to help ease congestion around London which I can understand. It’s not a reason up here, a ten o clock finish time will put more people off than it will encourage.

No doubt if Crwho? had played we'd have had half-an-hour's summary by Graham McGarry.

Why are we now kicking off our evening matches at 8 o clock? Unrelated to the topic really but that extra 15 minutes must put people off coming? Really ?

Does an even later kick off time deter younger fans from coming on a school night...very possibly.

Yeah really it’s unjustified why is it ? Because the reasons why clubs in the capital city have late kick off times are not applicable in small provincial areas like ours. I do recognise that last night was a TV game but there is no reason for our evening games to kick off at 8 o’clock.

Pissing down, on Sky, Liverpool v PSG on, 3 wins in the calendar year. Family stand is sparse most games as it's so cheap it's not much of a loss if their kids don't fancy it. I'd think 15 mins extra is negligible but can't prove it obviously.

I doubt a 15 minute delay would have too much of an effect on attendance, but can’t prove it one way or another. I do know for a fact because I experienced it, that for 7:45 kick-offs, there were still people queuing to get into car parking spaces just before kick-off time - I’m assuming these were people who’d basically come straight from work and had struggled to get there any earlier, this being my own situation at the time. Now we’re in the Championship, some of the congestion has been eased because we seem to have lost a fair few supporters, but I for one was pleased when the original decision to move the midweek KO times to 8pm was implemented. We’ve all got our own personal circumstances though. Basically, whatever the club do in this respect will please some and inconvenience others.

On the subject of Radio Stoke, I was away on holiday for the West brom game, had my 'TUNE IN' radio app downloaded and ready to go to listen to the match by the pool... Just about to kick off and it cuts off and says its some kind of maintenance / temporary work going on and I couldn't listen to it.
I was like, what the fu**? Then I realised, they mustn't allow broadcasting live games on certain platforms. Any idea why?
I just ended up switching over to Signal 2 and I listened to their coverage, which actually surprised me, it was half decent!
But why on earth would the BBC not allow commentary be broadcast in a different country or online? I'm genuinely bemused! You can listen to the actual station fine right up until kick off, then bang it goes.

In fairness to Radio Stoke there was a 2 hour build up before kick-off. But I agree, I like to listen to an hour's show after the match - reaction, manager's and players interviews, praise n grumble etc - even if it takes me only 10 minutes to drive home.

Looking at the local radio schedules on iPlayer, Stoke, Derby and Lancashire all finished at 10.00. WM, Leeds and Suffolk stayed on air until 10.30.
Tonight, Tees stays on until 10.30, Nottingham, Berkshire and Sheffield finish at 10.00.

Good detective work Dave and I assure you if Lampard hadn’t been interviewed by the local reporter on Radio Derby they’d have stayed on air until they did so.
