He looks a good signing but he must track his opponents better a number of times he let them go Agree with this - he's a quality signing, I love that he's here, just what we need and will only get better - but there's a reason he was playing for Brentford not Man Citeh. Isn’t that the same for every player who doesn’t play for Man City,Man Utd, Liverpool etc etc Just enjoy him Sal and not get wrapped up in all that bollocks

He's a footballer. As already mentioned he was closed down in the first half but by the end of the half, and certainly in the second half he drifted out to the half spaces and got time on the ball.
Eventually he found more space inside than before and with the Berahino change we dominated the last 20.
That in itself is a sign of a very clever footballer that has a brain and can get through a match on his own, rather than having to be hand walked through every one of the 12 zones of a micro manager's tactics pitch.

First time I’ve seen him, what a player we have with him.

Exactly what we have been missing & we could do with more like him, for a small player he offers a presence and the lack of it throughout the team is even clearer now we have one with it

Looks like our best signing for some time now I'd say.

I like the fact that every time one of our players had the ball, Ryan always seemed to find a space as an option for them.

Like he did the previous week.

Looks like a very good signing. Solid, gets stuck in but also looks to build momentum when on the ball. Just what we need.
Best player on the pitch last night, ran that midfield pretty much single-handedly at times.

I liked what I saw. He seemed very comfortable getting the ball in tight situations.
I just hope we've already set the price for the lad if we want to make his move permanent.

He certainly looks like we finally have our Whelan upgrade actually with bells on!. He was getting rave reviews at Shrewsbury and was player of the season at Brentford. The mystery for me is why it took so long for us to sign him, surely Rowett knew all about him but initially went for an injured Clucas. We have needed a Whelan upgrade for what 3/4 years and all the recruitment team have come up with was a lazy arsed signing of a knackered Darren Fletcher. And Coates thinks there is nothing wrong with our recruitment process ffs!

Badou of last year or Woods? Woods. It isn’t even close Badou was probably more energetic, won the ball back more... but woods is miles ahead with composure and passing ability.. Woods every day of the week

Woods could easily play in the Premier League, Etebo has the potential as well. Hopefully it's with us.

Woods could easily play in the Premier League, Etebo has the potential as well. Hopefully it's with us. Well we will have to get promoted this season then. Those two stand out over the other dross we have and we wont be able to keep them in the Championship if we are here next season the way they are playing. It’s already been shown, matters little what financial clout we have....if a player wants out, they get out.

What a fucking player Woods is. If he’s not playing Premiership football next season it’s an absolute travesty. A travesty it is then cos he sure as eggs aint going there with us and I just can`t see anyone else making us an offer we cant refuse at the end of the season !

Dont know if its been said in the previous seven pages, but sitting in the Leppings Lane end he reminded me of a young Paul Scholes. High praise indeed and only first impressions , lets see how he develops.Certainly the high point of Saturday

People keep comparing him to Glenn Whelan, but I think that's wide of the mark.
I can see the similarities, but his intelligence when the opposition have the ball, his reading of the game and his uncanny ability to be the last line of defence in any counter attack are much more like our second best midfielder of the past 30 years: Rory Delap.
I think that's very high praise indeed.

I think that's very high praise indeed. Glenn Whelan never made a 40 yard pass then ran 30 so he could get the ball back. It’s early days but this lad looks a real find. It’s great to see someone want so much of the ball and be able to do something with it when he’s got it. He’s like the antidote to Darren Fletcher.
