So much space in behind Bauer, even at this level quite shocking really.

Penalty to Villa given away because Bauer was out of position, luckily they missed it The challenge was in the centre half's territory. Looked a harsh decision to me.

Danny Jarvis who set it up is way underrated for me. He's an absolutely lovely footballer and I'd love to see him make it.

Collins looked very composed but Villa no great shakes, I'd like to see him get some cup game time to see how he manages the step up They aren't but Collins is next level if managed right. Coventry wanted him on loan this season and he's only 17. Not sure why we turned that down tbh. We didn't.

Edit: Walsall loan fell through due to issues re his age. Bizarre but won't be an issue now he's 17. Northampton in for Shenton but changed their mind.

Bauer had done nothing at all to convince the manager that he's first team material.
Looks lazy, uninterested, and his positioning is atrocious.
Only watched 20 minutes of it mind...

Have to say I don’t see how anyone can be anything other than very impressed by that tonight. Some very good performances from the young lads and I have to say also I thought Charlie had a very good game with some great passing👍

Bauer had done nothing at all to convince the manager that he's first team material. Looks lazy, uninterested, and his positioning is atrocious. Only watched 20 minutes of it mind... He looked excellent on the ball, got up and down the line really well, set-up the first goal with a cross and was involved the move for the second goal. So I guess I disagree with you. Our centre backs both looked very good, particularly the one on the left. The second goal was the highlight of the game. Keeper —> Souttar (I think) —> Bauer (in right back position) jinked last a player and played a short pass to someone who played a firm pass to Shenton who ran forward and played a solid pass to Jarvis on the wing. He played the ball in for Jennings who slotted in past the keeper. Lovely.

We allowed the fact that he's a nice bloke make us think he's a good player Unfortunately, you're right mate. I was never convinced by him at the end of last season and a lot of people thought he was the second coming after we got beat 3-0 at old trafford. (I don't think he's actually that fast either! tin hat firmly on...)

That's the best I've seen a Stoke team play for a good while. They played like Brentford did against us, 1 touch, 2 touch football admirably marshalled by Charlie boy in the middl,e passing on the tricks of the trade (Dirty Twat). In all seriousness though, him and Shenton link the play and I think the young un's like having him around to help them. By the way the left back, think it's Moussa Niatake or something like that, absolute beast, there right winger didn't fancy it tonight (don't blame him mind).

They only perked up when Lambert came in and got the lazy fuckers running.
