Was Maurice Edu brought in to be a friend for Geoff Cameron during the time when TP didn't believe that foreign players could make it in England because they'd be too lonely?

I liked Kolar. Bryan Small was pretty bad. Dropped a long way after he left us.

Who was the other chap from rangers (I think) that signed, the golden days when our pizza boys took monkey dust most nights, some transfers paid off some didn’t others just disappeared into the pages of history ... golden times now most don’t seem to pay off for one reason or another and a lot disappear Maurice Edu..quite possibly the worst player I have ever seen play for us. that is a huge call when you think about some of the dross over the last 10 or so years, Kightly, Shea, Wimmer, Wollschied, Camara, Fletcher, Michael Owen... this list is not exhaustive while we are on the subject of forgotten players what happened to Juan Agudelo?

Maurice Edu..quite possibly the worst player I have ever seen play for us. Vividly remember his debut (?) playing away at Anfield. Gave the ball away, got nutmegged and just chased shadows for his whole game. First time I took my lad to Anfield
I think this was the same game as the infamous Suarez duck flop ? I am getting old though so may be corrected on this
I digress though ..... He was absolute gash from the minute he came on --- miles off the pace

Never got the work permit, even after immediately sending him on load to Venlo or whoever it was Speaking of them, remember the supposed talks for Michael Uchebo? Never had a great scoring record for a striker. Ended up on trial with us but we sent him back.

I liked Kolar. Bryan Small was pretty bad. Dropped a long way after he left us. From what I remember of Kolar he seemed alright to me, score a good goal against Norwich at home if my memory is correct?! Peter Kopteff was the other random foreign winger we signed at the same time I think.

I thought we had McKinlay on loan, and seem to remember him being quite a good player while he was with us. Mind you, I could be mistaken. Got sent off on his debut for cuffing someone. Started against Brazil in the opening game of the World Cup about three months later. Won a penalty then got sent off for punching Craig Hignett vs Middlesbrough, I seem to recall.

Maurice Edu..quite possibly the worst player I have ever seen play for us. Surely no one can hold a candle to Vincent Perricard ifor the worst ever player award? That honour goes to Salif Diao. The worst footballer I’ve ever seen.

Ness - lots of votes for worst payer but has to be a strong contender for best dog story “GAS FIRE TRIED TO KILL ME BUT DOG SAVED MY LIFE”
as for worst player, my vote goes to some big Scottish lump at the back signed by Toothless Joe Jordan and players religiously at the back, during at time when we previously had been used to the most solid back 4 since the Middle Ages (Butler, Cranston, Sandford, Overton et al) . Could trap a ball further than Jack Butland could kick it. The pain has erased his name from memory it may have been jock or something

You cant have been supporting Stoke for that long if he's the worst footballer you have seen. Brammer, Risom, Rowson, Oldfield, Dadason, Lightbourne, Nyamah, Schreuder, Small, Tweed, Lee Collins, Petty. The list could go on and on

When Diao first came he bossed it in the championship. Was too far gone for the Prem although he did score that last minute winner at Pompey with an unbelievable burst through the middle to get on the end of a cross. Edit - just looked at his career stats and that was one of only 2 goals in his club career! He did score 4 in 37 for Senegal though

No way was Salif Diao a bad player! He was just too far over the hill by the time we got to the Premier. Same applies to Michael Owen.
Once-good players shouldn't really qualify for the 'worst-ever' class. Players who were NEVER any good or were over-hyped should lead that list.
My vote would go to Paul Dyson in the 84-85 holocaust season ....

He was fantastic when he signed on loan, and he bosses the league. He wasn't even that bad after promotion, and he was an important part of keeping discipline behind the scenes.

Shea won a penalty for us (V Fulham I think?) which even that is more than Edu ever did 😂 Kightly scored maybe once Wimmer maybe made a couple tackles For Wolly see Wimmer Didn’t Henri Camera score once too? Fletcher had one or two decent games at the beginning and scored And Michael Owen scored one. All of above contributed atleast something at one stage or another. Maurice Edu did literally nothing.

No one mentioned Sonko yet. Blackburn away must be up there as one of the worst individual performances by a player ever.

Fairly sure bish bosh tosh was a loan long before the pizza boys turned up. Could be wrong. Also thought he was a decent player for us in a horror season Yeah he was a Kamara signing wasn't he? Did he play that much? Can't recall him featuring after that sending off. Made three appearances for us according to Wiki. How I remember the sending off was that he ran past Hignett after winning a goal kick, and kind of tapped him playfully on the back of his head. But you know when you do it to a mate, and it goes a bit wrong and you tap him a bit harder than you'd meant to... Anyway, Hignett made the most of it and off Tosh went.
