I bought a packet of Ginger nuts yesterday - no really I did - not had any for ages. Must be fate. Any more Gingers out there we can sign? Strange you say that as I myself had some ginger nuts yesterday. I think we both deserve serious credit for this transfer if it does come off. I suppose you've been eating chocolate digestives before changing?

The last woods to play for us was Steven woods and he was utter shite. Steer clear. There must be a better old never has been knocking around somewhere He was one of the very few who made professional from my school of excellence days. I didn't make it with me being even worse than Steve 😁😁

Hmmmm let me think more money and play for team that's won twice in the whole of 2018. Or stay with a team on the up,lots of young players and pace and with a good shout of the top 6. I now which I would go for. No you wouldn't. It's a business. He'd be made for life. If he can get a guaranteed double his wages deal for 4-5 years nailed on with us or play with a lot of nice young lads (ooh er missus) he'd be mental not to take it. It would net him about £10m. If it all goes tits up with us he could always go back to playing for shits and giggles at the end of his contract. lol. don't be daft. if it goes tits up. he will be loaned back after 6 months.

I've never heard of him but hopefully we get him and it works out. Must admit until people started banging his drum on here this summer I'd never heard of him. I now HOPE we get him. I EXPECT our exalted transfer team to fuck it up.

If he stays at Brentford they might not go up, he definitely gets a massive wage rise at Stoke whatever happens. Is that opening bid reasonable, Paul? Do you know what mate, I nearly asked that question myself. You would like to think that we haven't just pulled that figure out of the air and we already know what sort of ball park figure Brentford are looking for. Having said that, Tony does pride himself on being 'cute' doesn't he? Let's hope this is a heads down, focused attempt, to just get the lad through the door. Didn't Swansea back out because they didn't match Brentford's valuation? There's obviously a figure out there, you'd think.

The lads got a weird playing stance. Hope he gets off to a flyer or else ... my Brentford mate says the number is 7m. Swansea offered 6. He also says Woods is not even in their best 11. make of that what you will. I told him they were getting the brucy bonus of a fully paid wages of Adam. He couldn't believe we still even have him.

I just read a newspaper report somewhere from deadline day (can't find it again right now) that said Brentford's valuation was 7m. So 6.5 sounds like a fairly standard Teflon gambit.

The fans on the Brentford forum aren't too bothered if he goes.
I think it would now be for the best if Ryan went. I know we need squad depth to launch a promotion bid, but I just have a lurking suspicion that harmony might have been difficult to maintain given the massive depth and quality of our midfield had he stayed, particularly as he was theoretically replaced a good while ago, and especially given the form of the present shirt-holders. I hope I don't regret the sentiment if we find ourselves in a major injury crisis!
-----
Agree with most of that, it’s just his time to move on, I think all involved thought it was done a week or so ago. We’ll miss him but I do hope the Stoke interest is true, a much better option in the long term and obviously much nearer home at a delicate time for him and his family.
-----
Once Ryan decided to set up home in the midlands I always thought his days were numbered with us.Stoke if true will be good for him and his family and if the fee is north of 6 mill it’s definitely good for us.Lets be fair we haven’t missed him and I’m confident we will replace with better but wish him all the best after all he’s been through.Hes been one of my favourite players over the last 5 years but still think Forshaw was better.
-----
There's quite a lot more Brentford fans basically saying the same.
Hope we've done our "due diligence" on this.

They are the antithesis of stokes transfer policy.

Let’s face it they are doing brilliantly. I really, really, really hope that we get this deal done. Despite my reservations of how we will keep both Allen and Etebo happy, the prospect of Woods and Clucas coming into our side gives me a lot of hope.
