Listening to Radio 2 yesterday morning to hear the presenter mention that "today is the start of the football season."

I don't intend to watch a single minute of Premier League football this season. It'll be nice to have a bit of a detox.
If all goes to plan then I won't have to see any gloryhunters, referees indulging big names, big club obsessed commentators, obsequious pundits lavishing praise on Man City for buying the title, Arsenal being Arsenal or any other such stuff.

Just for the season mind, while we're temporarily (no harm to dream) exiled? I'm leaning towards Liverpool or Burnley. Not a concept i can get my head around,100% one club man through and through.

Before we went up I had a soft spot for Fulham, so them I guess.
In all honesty I didn't really look at the scores yesterday.
It was hard to even look at the Championship ones when we are playing so poorly.

Yes, I’ve always liked Newcastle- I don’t know if it’s because their name sounds like Newcastle-under-Lyme, but they’re the Premier League club I’m cheering for.

Fulham for me. Spend 100 million, got beat at home to a bang average side, waiting for the implosion. Will be similar to the numbnuts on here. All you do is slag off Stoke fans on here. Kindly fuck off you sanctimonious prick.

I've not even watched MOTD as I'm pig sick of football and Stoke City atm. Fuck the lot of 'em...........until next game! Same - I just couldn't bring myself to watch it and went to bed after watching 'Quest' hoping that I would wake up today and that it is all a bad dream The board and the players are adopting a similar approach.

Like most other Stokies I have no intention of adopting a second team. If I was into second teams because Stoke were not doing well, I would have adopted a second team about 45 years ago. However, if I did choose a second team, it would probably be Arsenal - because I do like a good argument with my friends!

I've put good money on Everton outperforming their prices because I liked their transfer windows moves, so I will be hoping they do well for financial reasons. I hope Burnley continue to hold their own.
Other than that, anyone playing any of the so called big six will have my good wishes for the game.
Having said that it'd be amusing if spurs won it without spending a penny.

I suppose at least when one of the big clubs gets beaten by a small one we can take solace in knowing it doesn't negatively impact Stoke
What a strange thread started by someone who I would never have thought would even consider such an concept

I'm looking forward to seeing Hughes bring about Southampton's descent into utter chaos. I'll probably have to wait until he's kicked out anyone with a work ethic and brought in a ton of overpriced fancy-dan mercenaries, so it might be a bit of a wait. Nothing against the 'practically French' team, I just want to see Hughes found out.

Whoever's playing The Shit. I always want the shit to loses to, in fact I like Man City to win it because that pisses them off the most. I think you'll find that would be Liverpool. Noisy neighbours are just a minor irritant

So no second teams for me, thanks

St Johnstone Oh and while not many on here would quite rightly entertain a 'second' premiershit team there are quite a few on here that do have a second much lower division team, usually local to where they live. GD
