Newcastle United players refuse to co-operate with media in bonus disputeI appreciate there has been incompetence about the way things have been done at Stoke in the last few years, but this at Newcastle is ridiculous. They have one of the best managers in the country - if not the world - who was able to scrape a top-half finish with a group of average players and yet the owner just point-blank refuses to either invest in the squad or even pay existing ones the bonuses they were promised. Ashley seemingly only became wealthy and successful in the first place by being a total dick-head and sees that as the only way to be. Newcastle's fans deserve better.

Refusing to take part in the media player profile walks that are used.
Cashley is a leech, yet for someone who seeks money so bad he refuses to take ours

Cashley is a leech, yet for someone who seeks money so bad he refuses to take ours Probably knows we're desperate and willing to pay over the odds. Just like his workers are desperate and willing to work - or not work - for fuck all an hour even though they don't get proper breaks but do get an unpaid strip-search when they leave the premises.

Is it time to go in for Ritchie again? I'd be putting bids in for quite a few of them.

Is it time to go in for Ritchie again? Think rafa would love the funds to replace Ritchie but cashley is reluctant to provide any more funds, few players in the premier are 12 million nowadays.

I find mike Ashley boring , but at least he runs Newcastle . At least he is the boss for real and not just in name .
he doesn't have imbula's agent , jesse agent , wimmer / Daniel levy etc etc , running his club and running it into the ground
he might be stingy , but at least he is not a loser

lest we forget that Mike Ashley managed to get £35,000,000 for Andy Carroll, just for that he deserves a statue at the front of the club
might be a tit but stupid people dont become rich like he is (except for lottery winners) same goes for the Fat Controller at Vale

Stayed in the premiership and got a top manager. He's honest about his spending even if it is low.
I'd swap as he has admitted his short cummings and offered to sell the club.
He doesn't give the fans false hope, or fill them with bullshit unlike some.

His appointment of Rafa is the best thing he's ever done. Despite averaging gates of around the 50K mark and spending very little they're 144 Million in Debt to him so just where has the money gone ? He's turned a top 8 club into a yo/yo club.

He's a very good businessman but clearly a shite football club owner.
He really could have Newcastle doing something if he invested what they need. It's crazy that he hasn't.
Not sure why Rafa hasn't walked yet tbh.

So why is a top class manager having to work miracles if Ashley is such a good Chairman ? You have to be mental to prefer him over Coates.

He's a very good businessman but clearly a shite football club owner. Perhaps he's trying to apply some common sense business practice (perhaps seen as sharp) to football that seems to have otherwise disappeared. I don't believe not paying contracted bonuses is the way to go though.

But they're still in the prem with a top class manager who finished mid table with a croc of shit side including a Stoke flop of a striker. So why is a top class manager having to work miracles if Ashley is such a good Chairman ? You have to be mental to prefer him over Coates. He managed to get Raffa in the first place something our lot couldn't or didn't want to do. That alone shows ambition and a clear intention to stay in the prem. We got Lambert. After a far more stable far more lucrative period of 10 years we got Lambert which showed the world and his dog what the intentions of our owners were. Now those intentions are reality and yet again we keep the old guard, fail to sign the strikers needed or the defence (jury is out on the mid field) to even compete in the championship let alone win it. Despite more statements full of bullshit talking about clear outs and promotion. Yeh, sure we've freshened up the squad a bit, but when you add a bit of white paint to brown it always turns brown, doesn't it? We needed a clean canvas (the squad) with a new artist (the manager) with a fresh brush (the chairman and his cronies) Ashley has put his team in the shop window for a perspective buyer looking like an investment opportunity. Coates has put our team in the second hand shop looking like a basket case. By design or incompetence the result is the same, neither method is a good reflection on our owners.

I don't believe not paying contracted bonuses is the way to go though. I don't think he is. I think that's what Coates has tried to do with us but failed miserably with some really poor decisions. Benitez has negated worse decisions from the Newcastle owner and board.
