With the squad we have now 7th-9th With another striker and winger of good quality 1st-2nd up to the board to decide how much they want the PL. Do you think our squad is therefore somewhere between the 7th to 9th best in the league? Or just that you don't think the players we have at our disposal well gel sufficiently well to get us higher than that? If it's the former, interested to hear which 6 to 8 other squads you think are better than ours?

You're giving him one season with a team that needs a complete overhaul, full of deadwood no one wants, thats a bit harsh. If the manager of the team who are the biggest spenders on transfers and by far the biggest spenders on salaries, can't get that side to finish in the top six, then I think that will be seen as a spectacular failure and it wouldn't be harsh at all if he was replaced. For me there are other people who have to go first. Teflon Tony and fat Mark for example

I think it’s a few things, the dressing room, the mentality that has become ingrained in the club, our lack of squad rebuild (we still need more champ quality players and pace), as well as nerves. I hope we tie up a few more deals this window and get off to a convincing start.

Hello Derby fan here I read most fans forums And in the main there are a good cross section of views And it's interesting to read other fans views on their clubs etc I read this thread on your forum and felt the need to have some input I think you are in for a shock You won't walk this league it's a tough place to be All the people who say you have good experience premiership players in your side well that will count for nothing believe me ,ask villa and Sunderland etc Your manager is a good manager who can be over cautious as you will see for yourselfs and he is pragmatic very much in the pupils mould And before anyone judges this post do me a favour reply after 15 games that should show the positives and negatives of your team/ club / manager
I do however wish you well

On the positive side we have retained most of our best players and bolstered that with a couple of new hires who have championship experience, namely Ince and Afobe. Our new player from Nigeria, Peter Etebo looks very promising, and if we hadn't snapped him up before the World Cup, a bigger club wold have after his performances there. Looks like we'll be retaining Jack Butland, which means we'll have the best keeper in the league too. Our defence really needs to sort itself out though, as last year we leaked goals for fun, and we'll always be susceptible to pace. It's going to be a very interesting journey, whatever happens. Oh....and don't you mean you're a Frank Lampard's Derby fan?

I think you’ll finish 2nd. You should be in with a shout of winning it but I fancy the Swans to top the table

I suspect the majority who predicted us to waltz back up are the younger fans who we acquired in the prem days. Sorry to sound patronising to our younger members, but I was once there myself The rest of us just want a team capable of competing in a football match. At the moment we are rank awful from 1 to 11 as we were last year and have a team of pansies and yet again start the season a million miles away from fitness and miles off the pace - with a crap load of players who have no interest in playing for us. 1st things 1st we have to try and win a football match which is something we have only done once this year, when we achieve this monumental milestone we then have to try and repeat it another 13 or 14 times so that we can avoid playing tier 3 nogger again. On today's performance, it is hard to see where those wins are going to come from, but hope springs eternal

Are we still in freefall? If you plot the graph we have been freefalling for 2 years now and it doesnt look like it's stopped yet.

I think we will struggle to begin with and then stabilise to somewhere around 10th. However if we don't sort the shape of central midfield out and play #10 to support the striker then could be lower. We need more steel and at least 2 more in before transfer deadline.

I was obviously hoping for A (1st to 6th), but expecting B (7th to 12th), but after that "performance" at Leeds I just don't know what to expect now but I think A is looking extremely doubtful. We still seem in freefall.
Thankfully it's a long season so it gives GR a little time but he needs to sort things out pretty quickly.

If we want to stop the slide we must start scoring goals. And lack of goals happens to be our main problem. It very difficult to win if you score 0 or 1 goal/match and that will only result mostly losses and draws in this division. I'm not panicing but it's obvious we will be fighting against relegation unless we somehow fix that problem.
