Hello Stoke fans Last season i started going around our Championship rivals forums and having an old chat. Normally just before we played each other. Then the thread goes on the thread on our forum. Sooo. Just general things. Thoughts on your signings, your new manager , how do you see the season going for you and finally the game on Sunday. All responses greatly appreciated. Good luck for the season (as long as you finish below us)

We were shite last season, havent been the best in pre season, we struggle to create and if they give it to Diouf, he couldnt score in a brothel, unlike Berahino it's the only place he can score
I expect us to lose 2-1, win 1-0 or a 0-0 draw, we will need to judge the championship standard against what we were dishing out last season.

I think we're all a bit confused about how it's going to go.
We've only really lost Shaqiri and have strengthened in other areas, so you could argue that we still have a Premier League side, but it really was a shit Premier League side! Central midfield is a huge concern for us and we don't seem to create enough for our strikers to score from, and our strikers are largely crap anyway.
I haven't paid proper attention to the Championship for ten years so I really don't know what to expect in terms of quality and style.
I don't want to make any predictions because the side had no fight in it last season, so we could do really really shit, although on paper we should boss it. We all know that Stoke City FC are wank though and make hard work of everything so I'm not expecting it to be as easy as I hope.
I can't really give you any opinions about Leeds though, sorry. As I say, I turned into a right Premiershit snob after promotion and have literally no idea what your club's about these days.
I'll be at Elland Road though for my first visit, and really looking forward to playing a good, proper club in a proper ground with a great history.
The game could go either way. We still look shit and LUFC have masses of experience in that division, so taking the game to us could really expose our suspect defence.

I think we're going to struggle a little. maybe around 6th or 7th.
Not addressed positions we need too.
Buying shit Not getting rid of deadwood Awful pre season.
Happy with rowett but don't like his more money jump ship attitude.

Hello
Personally not happy with favourites tag especially if we believe it. On paper we may well have the strongest starting 11 but it's how we play as a team of hat counts and where Rowett will earn his corn.
It will a tough league but unless I'm missing something is weaker now that Wolves and Fulham have gone up. I think we'll make top 6 but to come in the top 2 all the stars will need to align.
Expecting a close game on Sunday and is a good test of our credentials. I think it will be a draw but a loss might be no bad thing in terms of a reality check and wake up call.
And if we win and Rowett looks that bit more arrogant at the end of the game...never mind eh š

Itās going to be an interesting season.
My concern is that we have brought in decent players to add to a core of other good players, but we have glaring gaps and a lack of quality cover in the squad.
In addition, the core of the team seems to have a confidence issue after last seasons awful effort which could leak into this season. You can see that throughout the friendlies.
I think we will start slow until Rowett finds his best 11 and maybe we bring in a few more faces during the next several weeks. So Iām thinking a mid table position until Nov / Dec and then we will start to pick up. In general Iād like to think playoffs at a minimum, but with the right few signings and the new boss getting them motivated, top 2 isnāt out of the question. Quite a few āifāsā there though.
As for Sunday, I think 0-0 or 1-0 Leeds. Just donāt see us coming out of the blocks that quickly. Always happy to be proven wrong! On paper we have a great first 11 unless we lose anybody in the next few days.
Best of luck for the season, my mate is a dirty Leeds fan so I always hope you do okay. You should have a bit of rolercoaser year too with your current (temporary) manager in charge.

Sooo. Just general things. Thoughts on your signings, your new managerĀ , how do you see the season going for you and finally the game on Sunday.Ā All responses greatly appreciated.Ā Good luck for the season (as long as you finish below us)Ā Rowett is coming across very well. Clearly knows what he wants and doesn't seem to take any shit. He's called our transfer team out publicly a couple of times too which has gone down quite well with the majority of supporters. Afobe and Ince are excellent signings for the championship. There's lots of excitement about Etebo after a very good world cup, and McClean has obviously split opinion massively. He's been impressive in his pre season appearances so far though. Ashley Williams is a difficult one. We already have two excellent centre halves who have previously developed a good understanding, but they did need competition. However I can't see Williams coming here to not play a full season, and the comments from Everton fans are concerning to say the least. Federici will provide steady back up to Butland (or his replacement). Signing Joe Allen and Moritz Bauer to new deals is also excellent business. I'm quite optimistic about the season personally. I'm not expecting a fast start but I think we'll grow into it. We're definitely capable of going straight back up and if I had to stick a tenner on someone to win automatic promotion I'd put it on us, but I'm obviously biased as fuck š As for Sunday, I reckon 1.1

You could also reply to the same questions CJay. I will. New manager-Happy but nervous, he will either be brilliant or a total disaster, nothing in between. New Signings-There decent without being wow, still need at least 3 quality players for me to seriously challenge for promotion. Thoughts on the season- I've got us down for 10th to 8th. Think our defence, especially centrally is to weak for a real promotion push Thoughts on the game- On paper you win, best squad in the league, far above ours. But confidence may be low for you guys, Newcastle lost there 1st few. Head says 2-1 to you heart says 2-1 to us.

We will be stronger as the season goes on. There will be more signings for us, and the signings we have made have not bedded in yet. They've not trained together much, and the team on Sunday will feature 4 of them. This is the best time to play us I think. As for the season as a whole, I would expect the likes of Allen,Etebo, Afobe, Ince, Choupo, Bruno Martins-Indi, Shawcross, Jack Butland to ensure we finish either top 2 or near to that. As for Leeds, anything could happen with Bielsa. He could perform miracles, or it could go completely the other way. Either way if I were a leeds fan I would be excited. Sunday, a draw would be fine in the circumstances though I don't think Stoke will be doing anything other than trying to get 3 points in any game this season.

Quite happy with his appointment. Happy with our new signings but feel we need more quality in attack and dm especially. Last season we lacked any kind of plan going into matches and we were piss poor offensively and defensively. Really unsure how weāre going to get on in the Championship but hoping we at least make top 6. Leeds have got a decent manager in Bielsa and it will be interesting to see how he tackles the Championship and whether he can work his magic or not. I reckon 2-2 draw on Sunday

May take time for you i guess, those left over haunted by last season, new players taking time to get used to a new style or whatever. On paper though, Afobe, Shawcross, Etebo, Butland, Allen, Ince etc, top players for this level if Rowett can mould them into a team. Thanks for your response mate.

I am excited as i think most Leeds fans are. Our squad though is paper thin in terms of quality. For example we know Adam Forshaw wont play Sunday, key midfielder. We sold (stupidly) Ronaldo Vieria recently so thats 2 midfielders down. Pontus Jansson who is our only real quality cb may not play Sunday down to lack of fitness. Thats 3 quality players down already, there replacements arent close to there level with the exception of Klich for Forshaw.

Solid defence with a real speedster at rb. I'd be more concerned with the defence if we were still in the pram tbh. In my opinion, the best midfield in the league.Joe Allen, Etobe and Badou ( If he stays) I don't buy into this having a creative midfielder, a defensive midfielder and a box to box midfielder. They should all be capable of doing every role, and I think they are. Afobe, Mclean and Ince will be a handful for anyone. Squad could be a bit thin if we get injuries, but I think people are basing this on the premiership, but time will tell, and I'm sure there will be more players coming in. Always liked going to Elland Road, one of my best mate's is a big LUFC fan for his sins š Best of luck apart from when we play you š
