Can't believe some of the negative piss being spouted on this thread. We are what we are- a second-tier nation below the likes of Belgium, Brazil and France, and yet with an inexperienced squad, we got as far as we've got since 1990. I think that's a real achievement, even with a lucky draw. We got past two nations that are on a similar level to ourselves (Colombia and Sweden), lost to another (Croatia) who were just better on the day, beat the two nations you'd expect us to beat and lost to the one real quality side we faced. It's a decent return for a country like us who've failed time and time again to get beyond the last 16 in recent years. The signs are good for a decent Euros campaign in two years time. We're unlikely to win it, we're not good enough, but get to the semis again and we'll have done well. I think we could be much better in a couple of years. Sancho, foden, winks, mount, lookman, Calvert-lewin, sessegnon all should emerge. Sessegnon I feel could be a world class left sided attacking player if he carries on his development Lots to be positive about.we were a fairly limited side carrying unfit players but got to a semi.It was brilliant to have a world cup where England were involved right to the end.
